I realize I have other options than being a cop, but the idea of working in corporate finance for the rest of my life sounds soul-sucking and I'm not smart enough to do investment banking. The fuckers on Wall Street would eat my lunch.
My parents pressured me in to getting those degrees but they have much less power over me now.
Would my education help or hurt with regard to getting hired as cop? I guess I could end up in some sort of financial crimes division, which would be cool.
I'm weighing a lot of options, I don't need anyone to talk me out of it because I'm not considering it that seriously. I'm just wondering what would happen if I tried to apply.

The Secret Service love to hire people with finance qualifications, the downside is you are stuck behind a desk but at least you get to tell people you are a secret agent.
>>33902110
Would that be in their anti-counterfeiting function?
Only reason education hurts is because they'll expect you to want a better salary than the peanuts they'll pay you. Other than that they'll pretty much take anyone if they need them as far as I know (not a cop myself, brother is).
So, little discussion thread /k/
Why do you never hear anyone talk about pic related? If shot volume, placement and follow ups are the king of self-defence in the form of a mag dump, then why isn't .32 ACP a far more popular cartridge? It killed tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands in WWI.
Even .380 and 9x18 have trouble penetrating thick clothing and delivering adequate stopping power.
>>33902075
Pretty much this. The reason the 1911 is now such a meme gun is that in WW1, when everyone was using 9mm or .32ACP on the fronts in the winter, it wasn't penetrating through thick down jackets.
Then America shows up with and starts blowing holes straight through people with .45ACP
Don't get me wrong, I like .32ACP a lot, I have a Walther PP in .32ACP for a suit gun. But in modern world, 9mm just works better all around.
>>33902131
If nothing else, shouldn't the .32 range be a bit more attractive? Maybe lengthen the case a bit, speed the fucker up. We're 100 years later, ballistics and designs should have advanced enough to make .32, be it ACP or not, effective.

Do I wait for my C&R to go through and save myself $100, 10 day wait period, and dealing with FFL middleman, OR not risk it and snag one of these "Special Field Grade" rifles before they run out?
Help me /k/

Is CMP still getting the 1911s from storage?
are power rangers vaible in todays modern combat environment
>>33901560
Yes, they fight monsters and shit.
absolutely. They can tank bullets by doing backflips, and their multiethnic gender balanced fighting force makes them much less "problematic" than traditional forces. now if only we could make it more politically correct by making one of them mentally disabled and maybe throw some lgbtq in there...

Obviously we need to mass produce Megazords to better combat the forces of evil trying to take over the same metropolitan city
Anon here living in the wonderful state of Cuckifornia, was thinking of a way to get my hands an AR-15 sorta like pic related. I do have a sister that lives in Houston. So I was thinking of having her purchase the gun through private sale, me driving all the way out there, picking up the gun, paying her for her services, and driving home with said gun. Is that something that would work? Again this is purely theory, exploring all my options here.
Highly illegal. That's a straw purchase on the federal level plus the violations that California will hit you with. Plus you'd never get to enjoy shooting without looking over your shoulder for the cops or a range master with a hard on to turn you in.
If you want an uncucked AR that bad look into creating an LLC in Nevada or AZ and having the LLC own the guns. You still couldn't legally own them in CA but you could store them in the other state and shoot them there.

Well thats a damn shame, thank you guys for the help.
Can anyone suggest a good boot knife? I want to 'conceal carry' it here. Yes I am a Eurofag and I don't wanna get jumped by muslim gangs.
fairbairn sykes is the only correct answer
as a yuro you have a duty to slay invaders with this knife
If you get jumped by five people a knife in your boot isn't going to end accessible or any kind of help. You'd be better off taking a boxing or wrestling class
Is there any way to make suppressed pistols make that *PEW* *PEW* *PEW* sound in real life? like a whistle or something that you can drill into your suppressor so it makes that sound.
I grew up on bond films and video games and really want to *pew* *pew* *pew* in real life but don't want to drop 600 bucks on a can if all I get out of it is *TWHACK* *THWACK* *THWACK*

I ysed to go all the time when I was a young lad. They were selling SKSs and Mosins by the crate back then. You can smell it before you see it, you know that smell. I hope you enjoy it as much as I used to, friend.

I remember those days... Now I have to go.
why aren't remote controlled mortars a thing? if we have drones, things that fly and shoot while being remote controlled, why don't we have remote controlled mortars?
a cheap tube that a monkey can operate now turns into a vehicle with an autoloader and a limited ammo supply

a mortar team is probably much more reliable
I guess you could aim the mortar, load it,and fire it remotely though.

Ok i get that minor unsightly slide rail is ugly but is that the only downside?
I'm looking into getting one as my first pistol that i will purchase when i turn 21. I already have a glock 19 and glock 36 (my dad is a glock fanboy and gifted them to me) but want a full size steel gun in 9mm to rival my 1911 that my grandpa gave me.
