So I got the dead foot arms modified cycling system and also x products non recip side charging upper and it's pretty much impossible to charge.
It's so Damn stiff and it catches on its rails as well.
Another thing, when the handle is fully locked in its very difficult to get it out, without the bcg and lower, but when the bolt is in full battery and the dead foot arms mcs is installed it's pretty much impossible.
Am I just a weakfag that should lift more? I mean probably, but still it seems like putting so much force on the charging handle is bad for the gun and specifically the bcg.
Should I grind down the catch for the charging handle inside the upper?
What I mean by catch is a thicker section of metal that allows the charging handle to lock in and not move at all.
Maybe just a bit so it's not so difficult.

Make sure you ask in the AR General. A tripfag in there had one of these.

Protip; this wouldn't be an issue if you hadn't gotten a useless like a side-charging AR upper to begin with.

Figure out what the cost of living is wherever you're looking. $100k in SF is probably equivalent to something like $70k somewhere sane.

Sure, those jobs pay less, but consider cost of living in that decision. My mom lives in Clearwater and pays $650 a month for a two bedroom apartment. How much less would you be able to make and still have that be viable?

I've got this coming in the mail and I am really excited, as it is my first black powder gun. Anything advice/tricks I should know before it arrives?

Also, black powder general thread.

Don't fuck around with the action too much. Pietta's are easy to mess up the timing on if you fuck around with them a lot. Mine started to gouge the locking notches on the cylinder.

Other than that, they are fun guns. Just remember they aren't high end guns and keep an eye out for issues.

As far as shooting, you are safe loading it up to the point where the ball is right to the end of the chamber. I wouldn't recommend doing it, though. As far as tips on shooting, check out the duelist on youtube. He has videos on pretty much everything, snd if he doesn't have a video up that helps you, he will respond to questions (He did for me)

Have fun bro. Nothing quite relaxing like shooting BP.

>>

What constitutes fucking around? Will normal use wear it out, or do I need to spin the cylinder like a dumbass to mess it up?

What is the point of paratroopers in the modern era? with such advanced AA systems (S500 etc) it seems pointless because there is such a high chance of being shot down. Hell, not just S500s but MANPADs and the like.
Also, are the chutes still made of silk, or is it some sort of nylon material?
91 posts and 13 images submitted.
>>
>>33902219
not every enemy you fight has MANPADs, we have to deal with low intensity threats as well, and sometimes an airdrop into low tech enemy liens can be very beneficial
>>
>>33902219
move large amounts of troops and equipment in a short amount of time.
>>
>>33902219
Maybe you are fighting a conventional force with strong air deterrence but want to air drop a large number of men into an area thought to be inaccessible and that is therefore lightly defended, and you've also heavily bombarded what few enemy AA assets are in that area.

Maybe you are fighting a non-conventional force without air deference and need to reinforce an isolated and cut off unit.

Maybe you want to move a whole lot of people to an area you fully control but you want to get them there really fucking quickly because you're worried about a large scale attack that might be coming.

Maybe you're fighting a war of occupation and you want to reassert control over a hard to reach area and also put the fear of god into your enemy by showing them you can instantly have boots on the ground in large numbers overnight.

Maybe parachutes are just cool as shit so shut the fuck up

Any Anons on air?

The US developed nuclear shells for the Iowa Class and stockpiled them.

The Navy never confirmed or denied if they were fielded by vets remember that there were parts of the ship's magazines guarded by armed Marines, which some claim indicated that the shells were in fact taken aboard ship.

The 16" guns had a 20 mile range which means the ship wouldn't be all that far away from the blast.

It's supposed that shells would have employed as fleet killers, allowing a single Iowa Class with air cover to put more and larger nukes on target (a large enemy formation) than a carrier launched air attack alone.

Any thoughts on what the other applications of these weapons might have been? Do you think the Iowas ever actually cruised with them onboard.
