Oh yeah, my bad I don't think it's anywhere on the site.
oops forgot to hit post here you go

Yo /ic/
Dont usually post here, looking for some crit/ tips on this unfinished thing i've been doodling (King shit of turd island hurr).
Points im not happy with:
>Lens flare/shine on sword, I want it to have that hand drawn vibe but i'm not sure it works?
>Sky gradient, should I be going from dark base to a lighter top? Or a more radial gradient?
>Lighting, I've added some yellow on the figure and to the foreground waves, how can I convincingly add rays of light from the upper left corner? (i.e light source)
>Any tips on colouring in general would be appreiciated.
Line art is just pen and ink, scanned into PS with most of the colouring layered beneath it. I'm sort of 'new' to colouring, especially digitally. Again, any tips would be great.

Woops, Posted it a bit too big. Please open the image in a new window rather than within 4chan, because its fuck ugly up close :^)
>>2349280
Delete the thread and reply to a drawthread instead.
A few days ago I asked for some directions on this dude.
I would like to request your opinion once again, since I received so many great tips last time.
I'm trying to find some comps to work this.
Do you rather this wider shot...
>>2348060
Post in the draw thread, snowflake.
>>2348060
Is that a fully 3d rendered, or is it painted over?
Looks pretty sick.
...or this closer one?
neither is, as always, a viable answer - specially if you could be kind and point some directions to go with this thing
Is her head too big? Or her body too small? Anything misplaced?
C&C welcome
There's a consistency I see with many of your paintings. I notice it because I personally used to do this. The lips are too far forward. It always seems as if they are being pulled. They are also often too small. I think you should try to paint women in different angles. I only ever see the 3/4ths view, and never from above or anything. Also some full bodies would be nice.
>>2346088
Thanks for your helpful comment, anon! One of the issue I have is that I am painting from imagination, which is why the 3/4th view is most convenient for me. Also, regarding the lips, that is the size and shape of my lips, so I thought it was common for people to have such lips. But it's uplifting to read your comment. Thanks anon!
>>2346092
Yep, I see some people mention that you are not good but I don't think that's true. However, I do think you need to experiment more. I feel like with drawing from imagination, you also should observe things in live, like how you said with your drawings/paintings. Look at the picture I attached here. Maybe look at women's lips and draw some. I study anatomy as much as I do as drawing from imagination. I love learning as much as I love applying that knowledge. The book I'm reading right now, "Master Class in Figure Drawing" by Robert Beverly Hale is one of the most helpful I've seen for understanding how the body works. I feel like with some extra studying, the lips and shoulder area of this piece will improve. At first I thought it was kind of weird, but almost every time I'm out, I draw. I draw the people walking by. I carry a small sketchbook. However, you can just look at people around you and try to see their proportions of their lips or arms or how light hits them. Remember, every artist is always learning.
Here's a speed drawing I did a couple days ago. Any comments or criticisms greatly appreciated.
I also have more on my page:

Everything, there's nothing at all good about what you've done there. Start back at square #1 and work yourself up.
>>2345893
I'd recommend less speed and more drawing.
Is this pretentious?
>>2344747
this thread? yes it is
>>2344749
mmm well done
>>2344747
Yes, and it is also gay, and as we all know, the gays should go die of AIDs because to hell with homosexuals. The AIDs they get is well deserved as is their death for being filthy butt-pirates.
Is drawing your only hobby and/or interest?
Alternative question for those few Art history majors here: What's your hobby?

>implying unusual media makes trash tier art look good
I'm really intimidated by color mixing and shading. Expecially on weathered metal.
Any sort of advice on how to approach this would be appreciated.

>'e thinks that's enough Dakka
Not only is that shootaboy in dire need of more Dakka, you best be consulting Warboss Loomaugh before you ever paint anyfing again! WAAAGH!
>>2348843
I can't even tell if that's a 3d render or just really fucking good painting...
Some advice would be nice.

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make stylized work in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, have fun.

Fish guy.

How does one even develop/discover such a specific fetish? What makes it attractive to you?
Also to keep it art related, the torso looks really mushy and weird. I think you are overstating the value range there.
Post a draw in honnor of David Bowie (:
Ugh not here too
>>2348176
kill yourself
It's a nice idea but you can't make people draw it if they don't want to and I don't think many people are interested so keep it to yourself. ok? (-: (-; (: /:
Post gifs you have drawn recently

Is it possible to git gud while having a full time job, /ic/? I've been NEET for years, but I have to start working in a month.
For somebody that wasted years of NEETdom and is only just now getting into it, probably because he thinks it will be easy money? Probably not, fambo
In all seriousness though, yes, if you put your mind to it and if you're truly passionate about it. If you're a typical nihilist NEET though it's going to be an uphill battle just to cultivate that much.
>>2348618
Maybe, if you have literally no life outside work and art. And I mean, like NO life. Maybe one hour a day at most of friends/games/tv/whatever.
So other than that, probably not, or at least it will take you a very long time.
What're some active sites where you can draw with people?
>>2348541
>Online: Open canvas sessions
Otherwise
>Go to pretty much any location and start sketching with them
>Go to art classes together (if any)
>Sit inside while doodling from imagination
