Everything I read and hear all say that drawing from life is the single most important thing for an artist
I have the problem though that I dont have any models for me.
I have looked for any figure or life drawing sessions near where I am and there are none, I dont have anyone who will model for me, and I definitely cant pay for a stranger to model.
I can of course sketch people in public , but you can rarely get a long pose or drawing from anyone, and I feel like a creep doing that anyway.
So any solutions? I have used some resources like photo references but I am afraid I am not learning what I could be by drawing from life
>>2351400
you could ask friends or family, if you got any.
>>2351400
For now, try the new masters academy on YouTube. I know you want to draw models models from life but if you have nothing you are sol.
take a long bus or metro trip and sketch people who are trapped in a single position
if you're familiar with gesture drawing then you can churn out lots of quick sketches
How do people draw backgrounds like pic related? Is it true they take a photo of random place somwhere in Japan and just draw over it?

That is what I was looking for, thanks anon
>>2350439
That's good to know, but is there any video out there that shows the background creation full process? I always only stuffs for characters. What kind of textures and brushes do they use?
Hello.
Yesterday i decided i want to transition from digital drawing to traditional. As i have started learning straight in digital I have developed really good muscle memory when using a tablet. Now, when im drawing on paper its really hard to keep proportions or draw anything that doesnt look like shit. Please help me with advice or something . I also struggle without undo and transform tool.
Picrel is me on digital, traditional is like 2 months drawing tier shit.
this sure is a good way to start a thread - by posting furshit porn
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3971zJW9VHI
it's a learning process.
just like when jumping for traditional to digital, you're gonna be shit tier for awhile.
best just to grind a lot and get used to the new setup.
there's no easy way really.
pic looks above beginner tier so it's not that bad.
Weird request. Looking to find someone willing to do sketches of my wife in everyday situations (cooking, at wedding, etc.) but drawn with a breast hanging out or naked. I know, weird. But it gets me hot. I would send PayPal, trade stuff, whatever. Looking for an ongoing thing. BTW, my wife and I are very happy and this is just something that turns me on. My email is [email protected].
I have many, many high resolution photos to send for reference.
Why don't you draw it?
You are at the wrong place to make /r/equests.
>>2347211
why don't you just tell your wife to do that?

Post your current drawing here and give constructive critique to others!
Please make sure your posted image is clear, downsized to around 1000 pixels wide, rotated to the correct orientation, and that any unused space is cropped.
If you want critique on a drawing from the previous thread, you can delete it there and repost in this one.

-Commenting is OK but do not expect much from an hour's work.

Getting there... slowly.
Oh please sir, tell me more about the land of Gud. Is it true that Bouguereau girls sharpen your pencils with their feet and groves of graphite trees bear only the ripest Loomis heads?
Mouse/ms paint at work.

Damn it, I was just about to make one. I guess that Go Fast line is going to be a permanent addition.
Just picked this up, I thought itd be another one of those shitty "draw a dog with just 5 lines!" books but its actually gold and teaches a good ammount of fundamentals very well
>ITT: Gems you wish you knew earlier
This is the best perspective book I have ever read, unfortunately I only came across it when I already understood everything in it. Another great one is foundations in comic book art which is the best book on fundamentals Ive seen yet. If you could combine these with something on colour and something on anatomy on would have a hell of a curriculum.
>>2340515
That's the worst loomis book.
Anyways Michael Hampton is definitely the best at teaching construction
She is pretty good and is streaming now!

Hello
why don't be have a sticky thread with job /commissions listed?? wouldn't that help the /ic/ community ? even if people dont want to admit it /ic/ is a community its the first tab i open when i turn my pc on.
>>2350895
>/ic/
>community
baka desu senpai
>>2350899
so you don't want commissions?
>>2350895
1. a fear of competition
2. feels of inadequacy
thread dies.
Getting my first tattoo. Looking for some inspiration!
>>2335564
This is very nice. I like the idea of tattooing the negative space rather than the positive.

You're shit

im gonna redraw this right side up right now and make it a new meme.
i take a ride in the "self-promotion" thread and just "stalk" all the "artists" in the replies but i just found this in one.
The portrait pic is obviouslly a more detailed work, not perfect but is more complex and the artist dont get any like/reblog.
then the second thing, is like he just put the wacom pencil in his ass and start scratching in the tablet and he got 11 "notes (not a big number, i know)
why this happen? is this easy "sucess" as artist? just drawing shitty porn for normie people?
>>2349215
yes
>>2349215
fanart by default gets more likes, because the audience is greater. see the #Slpatoon hashtag? people will like it just because they like the character, not the drawing.
Have you ever regarded someone in the same way a man might find a painting of a woman beautiful but not erotic?
A purely kind of aesthetic appreciation.
>>2350034
Yeah, a man in the mirror.
>>2350038
You should probably get the man out of your mirror
>>2350038
that's me btw
What is the trick to copying Bargue plates?
Does Anyone know of a good guide or tutorial?
>>2348791
Look up Charles Bargue and Jean-Léon Gérôme's course book
>>2348791
>trick
Just visually measure shit. There is no easy way out if you want to draw well.
He tells you exactly how to do it over about 5 pages before all the plates. Do you have the pdf or just jpg of the plates? Also helps a lot to print it out and have it next to your drawing rather than looking at it on a screen
Is drawing a portrait of the girl you love creepy?
>>2344663
if she isn't into you as well, yes absolutely
people who don't want to be drawn by you won't ask
>>2344663
>>2344673
How do you feel about people drawing others like when they're on the bus or at a restaurant?
Just curious
