We've come a long way but the G*rman menace has yet to be fully eliminated.
I've been wanting to start legitimately reading philosophical works and fully understanding the ideas and concepts of the great philosophers. I've read much about them and generally know many of the major ideas and concepts but I want to start actually reading them and fully digesting them. Problem is, I don't even know where the hell to start. I'm figuring Classical philosophy first, but not sure who should I start with and what should I begin with. Any recommendations /his/?
what are some areas/ideas/thinkers that you think are interesting so far?
>>3000371
I really like Nietzsche and Schopenhauer, but I feel like I need to understand earlier concepts and philosophers to really get them. I feel like I need to read Kant and Hegel first too, but I'm not sure which works by them I should read first and which are the most important. I also find Hume pretty interesting as well.
>>3000379
well if you want to be perfectly thorough then you better start from heraclitus and the presocratics and make your way through everyone until nietzsche, but life's too short. just jump in and read thus spoke zarathustra, its fun and you can always come back to the parts you didn't get later.

Why does Egypt being black trigger people? When I say black I don't mean Congolese, but by the western standard of the one drop rule, native Egyptians are and have always been black.
Also where do Nubians end and native Egyptians begin. Is their really a substantial ethnic separation between the two? I suspect the separation implied by academia is artificial or at the very least highly exaggerated.
There is already another thread about this.
Give it up, Tyrone. Your ancestors were as useless as you are.

Unofficial/official patriot songs of your country.
Preferably subtitled.
Eh, best we have are the hakas. Everything else may as well be a British patriot song.

Cucks should fade away.
why is fascism, not only seen as purely right wing, but the farthest wing on the right?
fascism is an extreme authoritarian movement sure, but a lot of its tenets are counter to that of the right wing. the most blaring is state control of everything, and state superiority / supremacy. state of control of markets. these are not things right-wingers often advocate for..
mussolini started out a socialist and likely had his ideas rooted in socialism, because economically fascism is just to the right of marx. the main objections to marx being the rejection of communism as the next progressive step, and (some) corporate control over markets.
the most right-wing aspects of fascism are traditionalism.
militancy and nationalism, however often pinned to the right, has not exclusively been right or left.

It's all propaganda by those who hate the idea of a unified nation.

>left is on the right
>right is on the left
I can't even participate in this thread now.
You need to untangle early fascist rhetoric from what fascists regimes actually did. Fascism was always a loosely defined movement and had no problems with incorporating or discharging aspects that were no longer useful, a good example of that is the 'anti-bourgeois' rhetoric that was prominent among early fascists thinkers, but was quietly dropped when Fascists actually got to power.
Stop thinking of Fascism as a coherent set of beliefs like Liberalism and Communism which have centuries worth of philosophical documents to go on. Fascism was about feeling, the leaders contemptuously dismissed 'reason' as weak and feminine and elevated instinct and feeling as superior virtues.
>By late 1241, Subutai was discussing plans to invade the Holy Roman Empire, when news came of the death of Ă–gedei Khan. Over the objections of Subutai, the Mongol Princes withdrew the army to Mongolia for the election of a new Great Khan. The death of Ă–gedei effectively put an end to the Mongol invasion of Europe
What would happen if he beat the HRE?
Subutai was the only good Mongol.
>you will never see German get MONGOL'd
HRE might collapse completely or Mongols would install various kings with ties to Mongol dynasty to rule over Europe.
Hulagu khan subjugated the muslims in Middle East, or was in the process of it. They were fighting the mamluks in around Egypt I believe at some point.
So if they get both the Christian/Muslim empires to collapse mongols might have much greater impact on the world/society. Its likely HRE/Christian missionaries would influence the Mongols as well, so there might actually be a decent chance of strong mongol presence for a while.
The reason mongols collapsed in our time is because HRE was ignored (and they ignored the Mongols for the most part) and Middle East was pushed. The muslims took the initiative in influencing Berke's religion and politics because they were facing extinction. Since the Hulagu didn't have greater support from Christians and Buddhist Khans were far to the East, he was left to defend against two factions. The Muslims to the west and the Berke to the North whom they allied with. If the Christians had supported Hulagu, this would put an end to Berke's rebellion and Muslims would have been crushed. If this were to happen, chances are Christian Mongol and Buddhist Mongols would likely have greater connections. Europe might be more Buddhist as a result.
What exactly is the soul meant to do? What would demonstrate the presence of a soul, or lack thereof? Is it art, advanced tool, or something else?
>>2995616
The soul is etched in a human being, even a brain dead person would have one. A lack of a soul in a human would mean that the body expired. It's sole purpose is to give immortality to humans.
Why are the crusaders glorified here when they were basically ISIS-tier fundamentalists who didn't achieve anything besides murdering a bunch of civilians?
Because they were aesthetic
because fuck Muslims to be honest

This. Literally who gives a shit if muslims die.
ITT: Huge historical misconceptions you've heard or believed
I'll start
>Forgot Portugal even existed until we covered the spice trade in middle school, for some reason thought the entire Iberian was Spain
>Thought Islam was some super cool religion that was uber pacifist and respected women heavily (watched a misleading documentary in our Gateway world history class)
>Thought the ancient Egyptians were black (Blame living in Louisiana)
>Thought that the Byzantine Empire was just the Turks wanting to imitate the Romans (Middle school history teacher explained the split horribly)
>Thought there were only 3 crusades
>>2992966
Not one I've believed, but
>People generally died in their 40s in the past because the life expectancy was 40
is a whopper of a misconception.
I thought that napoleon was around in the 1500's and that his only name was napoleon

can someone explain to me what the fuck happened? Why was there radiation??
>>2984179
something about experimental parachute mines detonated 2 meters above ground in the same area around the same time.
A few things are likely:
>they were missing clothes possibly because of paradoxical undressing in response to hypothermia
>ripped tents could also be explained by this
>an animal probably ate the soft tissue of the eyes and tongue of that one person
>apparently avalanches have never happened there before but it's possibility and could also explain why they ran from the tents in little clothing.
>The radiation stuff is probably bullshit though.
How true is this claim? Was 1 John 5:7-8 added to the Bible only centuries ago to falsely support the Trinity?
>>3004316
some mudslime told me that the Church added it on purpose to support the Trinity
>>3004316
Though I'm not a believer, there is 0 evidence of there being systematic tampering with the Bible since it's canonical establishment. We have manuscripts in both Greek and Latin going back to the days of early Christianity that are consistent with the wording in more modern versions like KJV. It'd be very difficult for someone to rewrite the memory of the Bible when there were so many copies being produced in disparate regioins. The Bible is one of the most recopied texts in history and using comparative anylsis across time periods and regions we can see there are no changes in theological teachings.
