Has there ever been a more nightmarish religion than the Mesoamerican one? Their pantheon consists of massive reptiles, birds, jaguars, and monsters who crave human flesh and suffering. It just reads like demon worship with all of the perverse symbolic rituals.
>humans are made from gods' blood so be sure to sacrifice lots of people so the gods get their blood back
>set people on fire before ripping out their hearts to please Huehueteotl so he'll keeps your hearth warm
>throw a virgin into the cenote so your seeds receive enough water
>wear a person's skin until it rots off like husk from corn for a good harvest
>beat children until they cry before sacrificing them so Tlaloc sends rain
>wear human skeletons and eat human flesh to worship Mictlantecuhtli
>offer shit and piss to Tlazolteotl so you wont get STDs
>impale human hearts on cacti for Chalchihuitlicue's prickly pears
>sacrifice thousands for Tonatiuh during eclipses so the skeletal star devils don't descend and eat everyone
>dismember young women and throw their remains from pyramids for Huitzilopochtli and Coatlicue
Any other gross ones I'm missing? Is there any reasonable explanation for why people invented and worshiped these horrifying deities for thousands of years? Did they think that these gruesome rituals were beautiful, or were they simply terrified that their monster gods would kill them all if they didn't carry these things out?
can you elaborate on some of these practices op
this is hardcore shit
desu it sounds fucking metal
a few blood rituals every now and then is good catharsis

Let's say that WWII ended with all of Europe unified under Nazism and a stalemate reached with America and Russia. Would Nazi Germany have been able to create the Aryan utopia they envisioned at this point in history? Was it all just an unobtainable fantasy from the beginning?
>>1323322
>Would Nazi Germany have been able to create the Aryan utopia they envisioned at this point in history?
Hell no.
Bear in mind, a "stalemate" with the U.S., given the German lack of projecting force to America proper, ends with the Americans eventually realizing they can't topple the Nazi regime after delivering several nukes a month once October 45 or so rolls around.
What they'd have, assuming they somehow made it this far, is an empire of radioactive ruins.
> Was it all just an unobtainable fantasy from the beginning?
Even uniting Europe is an unobtainable fantasy, let alone the rest of it. How are you going to knock England out?
Nazism was/is Germanic Islam. It is not a unifying force but an assimilating one.
>>1323326
I was thinking that England would welcome Nazism with open arms, like a long lost relative.
Why does modern femininity focus itself around breaking down the concept of masculinity instead of treating both masculinity and femininity as two parts of what make up a balanced person? Both have merits and both should be expressed, why does it have to be one or the other?
>>1319323
Sour grapes.
You act as if you're under the impression that balanced, equal societies and individuals are the objective, rather than their designated enemy.
A major influence of theirs is Freud, read his stuff on penis envy.
Because women will never achieve the physical superiority of men. So they try to make men meek instead.
why cant the supposed god of the universe assume a physical form? why cant he reveal himself to his creatures?
in the old testament, god did not convey his commandments directly to Abraham, he instead left 2 stone tablets with the commandments written on them. why?
in the new testament, instead of god directly telling man that they are sinners and should repent, he sends his supposed son to spread his teachings, even if they might become lost in translation. why?
in the Quran, instead of Allah conveying his will directly to Mohammed, he sends the archangel Gabriel. why?
why cant an almighty god present himself to his creation? is there something keeping him from that, if not, then just why?

Cause its a test, and unlike tests in school, it does not reward critical thinking
>>1317015
The Gnostics have an answer for this, but orthodox Abrahamics have to believe that the creator of the entire Universe chose a small part of the Middle East to uniquely reveal himself to a handfull of illiterates. And if you can believe that, you'll believe anything.

How the fuck does anarcha feminism even work? Wouldn't it eventually implode? What do you do after you destroy the patriarchy?
Anyways Green and Pacifist Anarchism definitely work. Look at all those hippie communes still going strong after 50 years like the Farm.
I'm a type 4 myself.
What type are you, fellow comrades? which type is the best?

Let's get a historical fun facts thread going
Three of the six soldiers raising this flag would go on to die in this battle.
The first battle of the American Civil War was fought on the farm of Wilmer McLean.
Following the battle, he decided to move his family west; so far that the war would never touch them again.
Four years later, the last battle of the civil war was fought on his new farm in Appomattox. The surrender was signed in his home.
In later life he would say "The war began in my front yard and ended in my front parlor"
Supposedly, the Faroe Islands had a civil war involving a single longboat over who should build a church.
Canadians of /his/, what do you think of the weed man's father?
I just read his biography, and he seemed like a total alpha. It didn't really touch too much on his policies, though. Do you think Justin will measure up?

Regardless of whether he was alpha or not he started the process of flooding the country with third worlders and gave us useless forced bilingulalism.
They're not berbers. They're not semetic, and god knows they're not black or white. Where the hell did they come from?
They were a mix of hunter-gathers coming in from Africas horn and early farmers coming in from the Fertile Cresent?

Not sure we will ever know, but who knows? There is a shit-ton of information that we cannot yet access or even imagine. Probably not so different from indigenous europeans or etruscans.

Going by my Vicky 2 games Brazil needs to invade Uruguay and aggressively fund it's industrial base to strengthen that.
Both still possible, if you countenance future industrial tech prowess.

I've been reading on Islam recently, and I've got to say Islam seems to be the most barbarous ideology ever conceived and led to the death of the various civilizations it conquered.
Convince me otherwise, /his/
>>1319449
Historically wise or theologically, and we're gonna need some examples of what's upsetting you here as this is pretty vague.
>>1319458
All right.
Theologically wise, the complete disregard for reason, the dogmatism, the intolerance, the horrible treatment of women and gays, slavery, pedophilia, and most important of all, the duty to wage holy war against the infidel.
Historically wise, the arabic expansion, the invasion of India, the Ottoman expansion, the barbary slave trade, the nogai slave trade, the african slave trade.
Probably forgot others.
>>1319449
>Islam seems to be the most barbarous ideology ever conceived
As far as religious doctrine goes, it's pretty standard for an Abrahamic religion.
As for secular power, it lead to one of the greatest empires in history.
It's all bullshit of course, but I can't help but think Muhammad was bad ass for starting a cult and using it to found what would become an empire.
>and led to the death of the various civilizations it conquered
Civilizations come and go, in war or in peace. Change is nothing to cry about. The alternative is stagnation.
