Anyone else who doesn't feel like we as the West shouldn't be ashamed of the fact that we "killed and colonized millions of people"? I honestly can't sympathize with that shit. The only thing we can do is make things better, but to go on and apologize for every single encounter between us and others that ended up in a bloodbath seems the biggest waste of time...
I just don't get why we should feel guilty for winning while everyone else would've taken the same shot if they had the opportunity.
I thought of this too. What I found was that conquered peoples COULD have been worthless sacks of shit.
Namely because they did real horrid things. Like all is a slave and sometimes someone gets his heart cut out while being alive. (South America)
Or constant bloody barbaric war that will probably never end. (the indians, though not entirely sure)
Lots of own baby killing without reason and going to war too much without this being necessary for self preservation. (the Phoenicians, Africans)
Is there anyone that knows more about this?
Preach to the choir: the thread
>>1313292
It comes down to whether you see conquering other lands and people as something glorious or evil
Is the middle class unsustainable?
>>1313236
Under pure market conditions yes because r > g, where the return on capital accumulation naturally outstrips the rate of growth, fueling income inequality which creates a negative feedback loop of suppressing aggregate demand, creating economic deflation, creating more inequality which exacerbates the problem.
The only way to create a sustainable middle class is with state-interventionism. Otherwise your society ends up like the other 99% of human societies: conspiratorial oligarchy.
>>1313263
that's not true, the middle class can invest in the stock market and property as well
The only reason they still exist is because of debt and low interest loans
Was he really an effeminate fag?
No but he was redpilled about the jews
>>1313228
Wasn't everyone back then?
He was if nothing else, a terrible leader and would've never gotten the job if it was a merit-based position
Because why not?
I'll post mine in a second. I wish my state had a better flag, you know?
Also general vexillology discussion.
>>1313098
>My state's flag
Literally just the state seal in front of a white background. Disappointing as hell considering the centennial flag looked so cool.
>>1313108
Here's the centennial flag.
state flags aren't the best
I have you internet because you turned kids into absolue idiotsI'm an History teacher and during a class about Hinduism (we teach a bit about all religions) some girls suddenly started to scream, refusing to look at the pictures of Shiva, Ganesh, Brahma, etc... why ? Because their meditating pose with the typical handgesture looks like a "6" which is a sign of "illuminaties".At this point I was incline to ask what the fuck are they talking about and tried to explain how a shitty modern european secret society can't possible have anything to do with one of the oldest religion in the world but my word wasn't valid since the almighty YouTube had spoken.I fucking hate this job when this kind of crap happened.

Vietnamese make Koreans look like cucks.
ALso
>Capitalism = Obeying America/The West
to prevent the domino effect, communism would have swept across south east asia and the region would have ended up a totalitarian nightmare like north korea to this day
American policy makers in the 60s didn't really understand that communism wasn't a monolithic force.
In the 5 year period before the Tonkin Gulf Resolution, you'd had the Gary Powers shootdown, the Berlin Wall, Laos had stopped fighting the commies, the Bay of Pigs had happened, the Cuban Missile Crisis, and LBJ was pretty sure the communists had killed his old boss.
LBJ saw these events as something similar to the creeping expansion of German power in Europe up to WW2. He had cut his teeth working for the Roosevelt administration in the 30s, and he figured that the communists desperately needed to be confronted.
Why is blasphemy against the faggot ass Holy Spirit unforgivable?
I think it's meant to be a law of sorts against apostasy, because cults can't work without coercion.

You are offensive and immature. Please return to whatever grade you should have failed.
As always, thank you for shitposting on 4chan.
>>1312767
Correct.
Belief has to be incentivized with promises of reward/threat of punishment in order to survive against other beliefs in the petri dish of ideology,..
So dogma naturally develops to fit this purpose. Note, It is not as though the religious collective does this on purpose (except the occasional founder/reformer/interpreter) it is just that the dogma that matches this criteria is more likely to survive, and survival results in more followers. It's the Goldilocks principle, only with religion.
Earth matches preconditions for life incidentally, out of millions of planets, because it randomly meets the criteria by being in the right place at the right time, not because it was deliberately and consciously fine-tuned to harbor life from some inhospitable prior condition.

too hard to pull under the weight of one single person when the local lords have a lot of power each
For people who say faith alone, you do realize that when Paul (in contrast with say, James) said "works", he was talking about works of the *Law*? "Works" here means circumcision and eating kosher and all of that (Romans 4:11-13, Galatians 3:5).
"Works" as in helping the poor and being righteous in general, are what Saint James and Christ talk about.

Do devout Orthodox Christians generally do either of those things?
How does the ideal life look like? Let's spell it out.
I think this is less subjective than easily assumed. There are things we KNOW make humans feel good, such as regular exercise (yet many ignore this fact). Almost everyone with children also speak of how much their children, almost unconditionally, mean to them and bring them happiness - so forming a family should be another thing.
It also seems humans are prone to depression without a sense of purpose. Does it matter where this purpose is found (e.g. religion, qualified job, philosophy)?
What more is necessary for a life of self-fulfillment?
The greatest happiness is to vanquish your enemies, to chase them before you, to rob them of their wealth, to see those dear to them bathed in tears, to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.
>>1312444
A healthy cat.
>>1312536
>to clasp to your bosom their wives and daughters.
I'd prefer to clasp to my bosom their brothers and sons, if you get what I'm saying :33
Did the man who invented college go to college?
>>1312408
Yes, to govern and teach.
Technically, the chicken evolved over hundreds of generations, so the question of whether the chicken or the egg came first is purely semantic.
>>1312446
Eggs evolved hundreds of millions of years before chicken.

Don't forget the giants.
Does anyone else feel utterly powerless to make an informed opinion or try to enact a useful change in the world? It feels literally impossible to know which of the myriad views and narratives in history are true. It feels impossible to know which side is right. What can or should someone strive for in such a world?
Rather than looking for what is "true", look for what is "right". What does your conscience tell you?
THEN question it (a step to never forget). Why does it feel like this or that is right? Can you rationally explain why it must be so? From what are your feelings and thoughts formed, from what context? Have you been open-minded, have you considered the perspective of others?
Also, you know, not being confused and not questioning yourself is a sign of a bad character. You're a good person for thinking in these terms, OP. It should serve more people right, especially on 4chan.
>>1312039
This extended pattern of behavior sucks though. It is hard to accomplish anything when you could always be going down a morally false path. I'm not sure if such doubt without action and not just 'moving forward as best you can while still progressing' is considered neuroses, but either way, it is a valid question to ask and it isn't that simple.
Also, that might've been the nicest thing that has been said on 4chan, anon.!
>>1312009
Look after your brother, always. And helping him doesn't mean examining his flaws and explaining them to him. That's just pouring salt on the wound.
Encouragement, love, and compassion for when he needs it. Love your brother as you love yourself. It sounds corny, but you want to help, that's how.
The poor, the widow, and the prisoner in a cell. All could use love and compassion.
And not to do these things as rote, but from an understanding of their despondency. Don't kick people while they're down, lift them up.
