a smart guy knows more to worry about, and thus has more to worry, but also have the benefit to solve said worries and knows of more things that can give him/her pleasure
the dumb guy doesn't worry about the same thing but the thing that he doesn't worry about might still bite him in the ass without any way for him to defend against it (sort of a "even if you don't see it it still exist" sort of deal) so even though both the smart and dumb guy will probably both suffer. the smart guy will suffer more initially but the dumb guy will suffer more in the end. Likewise unlike the smart guy who can learn and prepare for if the suffering happens again and might be able avoid or even solve it completely, the dumb guy will continuously suffer horribly the exact same thing with equal or greater amount of suffering and just has to DEAL WITH IT.

Sharing some of my more interesting pics from World War 1 and 2. Will post some additional information for each pic
This first pic is of German and British soldiers playing soccer during the Christmas Day ceasefire in World War 1. The ceasefire was declared by officers in trenches on both sides, who had no further orders at the time and believed it was unacceptable to be fighting each other on Christmas. Soldiers exchanged gifts, food, and played games.
The following day, high command on both sides ordered that fighting resume.

With North African oil secured and the Afrika Corps forces freed up for the Eastern Front, Hitler could've made a better go of it. Franco's neutrality may have cost Germany greatly.
