Is squeezing all moral and political views into a spectrum a futile task?
>>1975420
It's downright harmful.
>>1975427
>autism is bad meme
>>1975420
Yes, obviously. The left-right is a false dichotomy and an oversimplification to make politics easier for politically-uneducated voters (most voters tbqh). I hate it.
>I must unite the American people under one flag.

>legally declare independence, as allowed in the articles of confederation
>feds refuse to leave territory

it's almost like the southern states agreed to the 1789 constitution and had been ruled under the American Constitution-the oldest active constitution in the world btw- for over 70 years before revolting. It's almost like that constitution made their cecession unlawful and therefore the north did literally nothing wrong.
/his/, please explain to me the "iranian origin" of the bulgarians, it sounds very interesting
>>1975244
Basically, the Proto-Bulgars were an East Iranian tribe that migrated to the Central Asian steppes, after arriving, they were subsequently assimilated into Turkic culture. You probably know the rest, Asparukh leads a portion if it's people to Europe, they settle into modern-day Bulgaria, are wholesomely slavicized etc.
It's WE WUZ bullshit along the lines of Sarmatism and the Croat/Horoatha revisionism.
Basically, inculcate the idea in a populace long enough that their history is squalid, worthless and peripheral, and they'll look for a different history for themselves.
>>1975522
persian empire was slavic
fucking turk dog
Like a lot of people, I find myself overwhelmed by the amount of info necessary to understand the current middle east conflicts. What are some good sources that would cover basics of the colonial middle east and 1948 to present?
These Kurdish cuties thank you for informing me of their people's struggle.
Kurds are worse than Turks and that's saying something.
Are scientist, engineers, and inventors the most important and undervalued people in history?
>undervalued
By whom? Maybe teens on this board who love masturbating to the philosophy (armchair critic) memes, but not real people.
>>1975183
>scientist, engineers, and inventors
>undervalued in history
>>1975183
Progress in technology, economy and society are the real history, scientists, engineers and explorers are the heroes.
Wars and battles are just accidents of history.
Why are britbongs so deluded and self-important?
Anglo propaganda
>>1975177
Germany throwing so much at Britain and achieving so little could be perceived as helping save Russia and win the war
Also britbongs know that 60% of the landing forces at d day were brits and australians, it could be argued Hitler's blunder with the battle of britain and lack of navy to defense against the Royal Navy lost them the war
I mean they were bombed by the fucking Germans. The closest thing that happened to us was some commercial ships sunk in the Atlantic and Pearl Harbor.
They had to go to work while they were being bombed, meaning their civilians were taking place in a war. Another thing, if it weren't for their insular position coupled with their Admiralty, we quite may well have not won that war at all, and it would have been a stalemate with Nazi Germany existing. You may have forgotten, we were not going to get involved at ALL, but because of the excellently negotiated Land-Lease deal we gave them our ships in exchange for territory closer to their zones of battle.
So I don't entirely understand communism... on one hand most communists I know of are far left, but throughout history hasn't communism produced terrible leaders and shit results for the people? What are some examples of good communism vs bad communism? Does right wing/fascist communism exist? tb h I don't know much about it and I'd like to be a bit more informed.
Dont know much, but I think communism idealy borrows some aspects one would often identify with the far-right. Example would be Extreme Nationalism, which can form the base for the sense of commune which is the foundation of a communist society. Look at the response of the Soviet people during the Eastern Front.
>>1975160
>but I think communism idealy borrows some aspects one would often identify with the far-right
okay I don't know much but I know that isn't true
>>1975162
>Does right wing/fascist communism exist?
>I know that isn't true
Well I guess you answered your own question
Can you tell me in philosophical terms why people are mean to each other?
>>1975093
Scarcity of resources.
>>1975093
It's just what I do
Its all a balance of group selection and selfish genes. Strong threat outside the group? Time for everyone to pull together. Stable prosperous time? Then let's find out who's top dog. You don't do your genes any favors by giving a sucker an even break.
what is it about ruthless authoritarian regimes that attracts nerds? It seems like all self described neonazi or stalinist or maoist ect is just some shlubby loser with no girlfriend and too much free time who hate the current system for being "too harsh" on them, but then they idolize these failed systems as some utopia
Extremist ideologies in general attract outcasts because
1) They have more time to learn about and consider such ideologies
2) They have little connection to the society in which they live or possibly even dislike it
3) They're already a bit unhinged because they can't make friends in a fucking constitutional republic, aka EZ mode for the proletariat
>>1975363
By modern liberal standards 99% of all regimes have been "ruthless authoritarian."
>>1975060
They are among the meekest people, so they want to attatch themselves to power to feel like they are significant. It's just a projection of insecurity and self percieved inferiority.
>Congratulations! You got the position!
>However...
>First you must provide an answer to the "trolley problem" do you pull the lever or not?
How do you respond?
>
>>1974885
no, i was not a cause of the situation nor am I morally obligated to become part of the situation, the morality of the situation is on the perpetrator who tied those people to the tracks and set the trolley off. I am in no moral quandry but the one who allowed this to happen in the first place is.
>>1974999
I am sorry to inform you that we suddenly found somebody else for the position
How come that denominations claiming they follow a first century Christianity strictly and without any later contaminations use a Bible from 1611? Sometimes exclusively?
Because it is the earliest book written in the one language they read.
Religion is dumb. More at 11.
>>1974756
The Douay-Rheims translation actually came first. The problem is, it's Catholic.
KJV is the first fully Protestant translation in English, and afaik I don't think there is very much reader bias in the translation either.
>Italian tactics
how is a defeat like this even humanly possible?
>>1974715
It appears that when your "tanks" are literally just armored cars and your planes can't take off because no fuel and destroyed airstrips, having more soldiers doesn't really help.
Who knew.
>>1974715
Lots of experience and a strong military tradition of this kind of thing.
What is the track record of rich business man who became leaders of their country? Is it good or bad?
*stuffs you a 20*
i got some hot dames outside kid, lets see if you's a real bigtine cat foist
>>1974707
Some would say the founding fathers did a pretty decent job
>>1974707
They're generally very mediocre.
On one hand they usually manage to handle their people well, and they can avoid the divided base that plagues lot of politicians.
On the other hand they're usually total amateurs at dealing with the opposition and statecraft, so they rarely do anything of real effect with their strong position.
Also they tend to be in a position of conflicting interests, both at a personal level and through business connections, so expect interested legislating.
Was this actually a thing? Or where they simply shown like this by their enemies to make them seem poor/primitive?
Why would a warrior have armor against enemy weapons but not simple protection against some small rocks or sharp debris?
Savages are used to walk barefoot. Shoes would just inhibit them.
>>1974600
When you walk barefoot all the time the skin on your soles gets super thick. In rainy weather and mud (common in northern Europe) it has much better friction than shoes with a flat profile, especially since you can grip with toes when climbing up a muddy hill f.e.
Vikings sometimes used to take their shoes off for fighting.
