Bit of both. You had one side who didn't hate white people and genuinely wanted to get along with them, (based MLK) and then you had Malcolm X who was a bit of a dickhead with the whole black power shit.

You tend to find that movements or ideologies which preach for unity without discriminating against one ethnicity (As opposed to BLM doing horrible shit to white people or black people who disagree with them) will last longer.

MLK is a pretty good bloke in my books. I believe in equality of opportunity, but wanting equality of outcome is not fair.

Overrated stuff that only happened in the final months of war when Japanese forces were in a tough situation and outnumbered. You only do this kind of shit when you're basically doomed and have nothing to lose anymore. It is unlikely that they would conduct desperate suicidal charges during their initial conquest phase.

Traditions make a country have identity

Because it isn't just a secondary cultural activity, but a primary. Imagine if language was not a tradition, and was always something being reinvented beyond an addition of words. Tradition gives some clarity as to what makes one group distinct, for whatever reason, from another. It's also a great way down the path of knowledge through whatever form of inquiry is used to understand the world, cosmos, etc.

European warfare was very different back then
Napoleon couldn't in any way guess that Alexander would rather burn his own country (dooming hundreds thousands of hjs civilians to death by starvation) just to avoid abiding to a trade agreement.

It was an absolutly irrational behavior coming from a deranged individual (Alexander was insane and firmly though that Napoleon was the antichrist) and that's what defeated Napoleon's genius
