He did nothing wrong?
>>1975841
Absolutely.
>>1975841
The "victim" was a maoist scumbag who openly admired Red China.
>>1975841
Sounds about right.
What was so great about Reagan?
>>2006428
He was a strong black man
>>2006428
He showed the world how badly Anarcho-Capitalism would fail if allowed to run it's course.
He correctly predicted that the Soviet system was on the verge of collapse and that prolonged confrontation would push them over the edge.
Literally everything else he did was some form of cancer, but he did in fact make a really ballsy call when it came to that.
How do you know you're a history buff? I sure *like* history but how do I know I can classify myself as a buff?
What's the point in trying to identify yourself as a "history buff"?
Does the title mean something special?
Isn't it enough to just appreciate something without a special title just because you are more interested in history more than others?
>>2006385
>Isn't it enough to just appreciate something
No anon, don't be ridiculous. How are you supposed to enjoy something without either taking a picture of it or lording it over others?
>>2006385
Honestly, I just want a quick word to describe myself and I don't like the idea of calling myself something I'm not sure I fully am
It's easier to say "I'm a history buff" over "I really, really, really like history"
Why did the British even create this country?
Why did the British even create this country?
>>2005971
It didn't.
The British were invited by the Kuwaiti government to protect it from the Ottomans.
>>2005978
To give the Jews a homeland.

to keep competitive powers forming on the american continents, power centralized on the USA.
I'm not a commushit but I thought it was pretty interesting and impressive that Allende built a bunch a computers and networked them in order to make a planned economy.
How come Soviets didn't do something similar?
>>2005739
Because the USSR was heavily involved in Eastern Europe and Central Asia
What kind of martial arts did Roman Legionaries use? How would I train like one of them?
How to use a sword, shield, and spear. And drill.
>>2005646
Mostly drill I would imagine, supposedly they would practice with weighted swords and shields for stamina.
These were soldiers, not martial artists. And while plenty of them could hold their own, that kind of stuff was probably passed down informally and once lost can never be recaptured.
They did not really train in martial arts. They mostly trained weapons. Every soldier could do every duty since they trained in all of them. Even camp jobs were interchanged often to make sure no one was unreplacable.
What is the best way to learn?
>>2005589
Different for everybody. I prefer reading and discussing the content with people I'm close to for maximum effect.
we simply just don't know. pretty telling.

What are some other absolutely insane periods in Human History?
Times when nothing made any sense
When did "democracy" become such a buzzword? As if its good for its own sake. A sacred cow of political theory here in the west.
I can't hear democracy being venerated without thinking its just a cheap appeal to the masses, the verbal equivalent of flag-waving.
>>2005457
I dunno abu but I at least find the facade of influencing politics even in a minor way with my vote verry appealing, personally.
>>2005457
>The politicians are in power because of the people's vote.
>The politicians spend a lot of effort hammering it into peoples heads through propaganda that their right to vote is very important and sacred and should never be taken away from them.
Why does the house of Bourbon-Parma have the Byzantine standard on its coat of arms?
>>2005070
lol no fugging idea
>>2005070
I know that Montferrat was ruled by the Palaeologus, so it may have something to do with that.
>>2005198
I don't see how that would give a completely unrelated House the standard
Would Asian countries dominate geopolitics? Who would be the superpowers?
>>2005026
This question is redundant. Europe was destined to become a world hegemon because of it's geography, unless in this hypothetical timeline you kill off Europe's population or have the entire continent get invaded or some shit. In that case I would say the world would be several hundred years less advanced than our timeline, the powers of Asia had no incentive to explore the new world and no means to kick off an industrial revolution.
>>2005235
>Geographical determinism

Was this show ever good enough to watch even as a parody of history?
Be honest and fair.
Yes, I agree the second season is complete faggy garbage.
I think so. That is the one anime I like and will watch so that has that going for it.
>>2005008
I've liked it for years but I guess it depends on your personality. I prefer subs over dubs btw.
>>2005008
>Was this show ever good enough to watch even as a parody of history?
Not even close.
It's an ok show if you enjoy the humour, but the only way the characters are connected with the nations they're supposed to represent is the name (which is often even misspelled due to translitteration).
Cato the Younger & Cicero
Crassus
All he wanted was to fight the fucking war.
>>2004962
>Cato the Younger & Cicero
That's some shit tier taste.
Cicero had great literary merit for sure, but since you also mentioned Cato, you certainly meant you liked him politically.
>Be half Jew
>Attend nazi rallies
>Use Jewish slave labour for Hitler's war effort
What was Erhard Milch's endgame?
Nazi shekels
