how old does it have to be to count as a historical figure?
"It was the English paleontologist Richard Owen, who in 1842 coined the term ‘dinosaur’. The phenomenon was then gradually promoted in the mainstream press all over the world, which told of these dinosaur creatures – including the Danish press. In 1854, a few years after the word dinosaur was invented and the concept presented in popular articles in the biggest American newspapers, the first dinosaur was discovered in North America by fossil hunter Ferdinand Vandiveer Hayden.
There had been no reported discoveries of even a single dinosaur bone in North America prior to 1854, but that didn’t stop the paleontologists. In the following period, finding dinosaur bones suddenly became a popular pastime. North America became home to the most ferocious, and was a true wonderland to dinosaur bone hunters.
According to The Dinosaur Project, a book by paleontological dig journalist Wayne Grady, the ensuing dinosaur rush in North America after 1854 was a mecca for dinosaur bone fraud. The book describes the years from 1870 to 1880 as a period in North America where “some of the most underhanded shenanigans in the history of science” were conducted.
According to Don Lessem, it is not unthinkable to assume that only around 2100 dinosaur bones sets have been discovered worldwide. These dinosaur bone sets have never formed a complete skeleton.
If thousands of longnecks and large carnivorous reptiles had really roamed Earth, we wouldn’t only have found 2100 dinosaur bone sets, but millions of bones, with ordinary people tripping over them when digging in their vegetable patches."
Did dinosaurs really exist or is it a total fraud?
Go on...

A great disaster is about to hit humanity. In a few days, almost all of our technological and cultural progress will be lost and we will be thrown back to the stone age. You can only save three texts (any kind: books, poems, legal documents etc.) that will thus become the basis of the new civilization. Which three would you chose?

Let's talk about monarchism and how it could be applied in this day and age.
The monarch should have no say in economic matters.
The monarch celebrates international relations, is the last stance regarding judicial power (not an appointed and easily infiltrated Supreme Court), and can veto the parliament.
It should be something like the papacy, the monarch has theoretically absolute powers, but he can't change law and customs. In particular he can't decide for the dissolution of the nation by merging with overarching super states like the EU, or via mass immigration of foreigners.
>>2428386
I agree. While recently I have been heavily leaning towards Monarchism because of my recent disillusionment with American politics, I worry about the monarch having too much power.
>>2428386
Cont.
Domestic and economic affairs are the job of the chancellor and his ministers. The chancellor is elected by parliament, but the monarch can veto that decision or dissolve the parliament no call new elections at any moment.
The monarch the head of the military, the defense minister merely advises him. The monarch also be required serve in the military and be an officer himself.
The monarch should also have resources to have independent from hostile (((economic interests))). The lands, real state etc owned by the state should belong to the monarch personally, but he is forbidden by law to sell them. (Yes the monarch is under the law.) Just like the pope can't just decide to sell St. Peter's basilica. Or the Sistine chapel.

It's reasonable to believe that some greater being created the universe.
It's not reasonable to believe that this being decided to contact humans several billion years after he created the universe to tell them not to masturbate.
