Hi /g/, im slowly buying parts to build a computer and i recently have a chance to buy a used i5 6600k w/ a 212 evo cooler and 1TB HDD all for $200. Since i probably wont finish building the computer till September( i'm waiting to find the best deals so I don't spend too much). Anyways the cpu doesnt have retail packaging so I'll have to find something to wrap it up with and put i away until I have all of my parts ready. Any tips?

I have a motorola maxx and my battery all of a sudden drains quickly even when in idle mode.

My battery usage says google services or sometime it says google play services is using up somtimes up to 55% of my battery. Even in idle mode wtf.

Has anyone had this issue before?

I have a question about Copperhead OS for anyone that knows about such things. I would like to install it on my device, but my device is an HTC One M8 (from Sprint, if that is relevant), which is not an officially supported device. I was wondering if it would be possible to follow some of the steps here https://copperhead.co/android/docs/building and just try putting in some of the device-specific code from Cyanogenmod as documented here https://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_m8#Prepare_the_device-specific_code . I have some knowledge of how to compile things and stuff like that, but I would not be able to do this if it requires extreme knowledge of this stuff. Does anyone know if this is possible with only a moderate skillset?

Someone really rich and influential starts building a Linux desktop distribution that doesn't suck. Maybe Elon Musk gets fed up with systemd or Red Hat goes into rehab and stops doing heroin or something.
Whoever it is, they want to make Linux stop sucking. They want to make it so much better than Windows, people would have no choice but to switch. They want to build a reliable, simple to administer and uber-secure system that can be used by both normies and Unix-beards.
What would a distribution like that look like, and what would they have to do - what major systemic problems would they have to fix, and how - if they were to build it?
