I am new to html coding, but how do i take text put in a textbox made like this:
>1st Number : <input type="text"/>
into a variable? say I ran the script and typed in 4, and had the script subtract that variable from another variable. how could i get that user input into a variable into my script?
You can't code with html you have to use Javascript
>>55595622
How do you do that, because I can cross code
>>55595578
Are you a girl or an indian?
Hello /g/ I'm fairly new to coding and I'm very interested in the world of hacking, but I'm not quite sure where to start. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
>>55595544
Step 1: buy thinkpad
Step 2: install gentoo
Step 3: you're officially a hacker
all you need is an axe my friend. Lumberjack clothing optional
>>55595544
hacking is something professionals do to solve some problem using existing technology, that the existing technology was not originally built to solve.
Is 6% interest on a used car loan good if my credit score is 815?

>tfw fell for the CE meme
What's the problem with CE?
I'm a third year EE student looking to go into CE since I plan on staying a NEET after I graduate.
Is it an interesting major?
>>55595480
I don't think OP has a problem
i think he's just impressed
>>55595480
You wind up not having as much software dev knowledge as a CS major, and not enough EE knowledge to get an EE job. IMO the best combo for employability is EE with CS minor or EE with programming side projects.

Why is no one bumping this thread? Is absolutely everybody on this board buttsore that they're being satirized for their GPU-zealotry?
Hey /g/, This just popped up and I'm kinda worried?
Everytime I reboot my PC or shut it down and turn it back on, pic related pops up and I can't boot into windows without going through BIOS and exiting, or pressing the reset button on my case.
I use a water-cooled Intel i7-4770K system, and my processor is over-clocked to 4.4GHz from its standard 3.5GHz, and it normally idles at around 35-40C
I've never had this happen before until just recently. Any idea what could be happening?
Install Gentoo
Try to turn off the overclock. That might be the issue
If it is water cooled then there shouldn't be any issue unless you pumps stop running when you do a reboot, which would be pretty shit.
Probably a miss report due to the overclock. Should have gotten a better board, or maybe see if there is a BIOS update.
Does anyone have a good understanding of old DVD ripping software and the resolutions they used?
I have some old DVDs and television captures I want to make sure are running in the correct 4:3 aspect ratio. but the videos are in some funky resolutions like 680x548.
I know the standard for DVD video is 720x480 for NTSC and 720x576 for PAL, but there's also this business of blanking lines that may or may not have video information included in them. And then there's the whole notion of anamorphic aspect ratios.
The best I've come up with so far is finding common frames of reference and trying to correct from that.
I usually just look at the box which says on it what aspect ratio the video is and then work from there.

as someone who spent a lot of time ripping shit, if you are autistic about it you're going to have a bad time.

That doesn't work when you are not working with the original source material. These are rips which were made years ago by someone unknown to me.
Does /g/ think AMD will release a successor to the Fiji architecture? (Similar to the how the Fury, Fury x, and Fury nano was AMD's flagship GPUs).
Might not seem likely because AMD was playing catch up when making these, but I'd hope to see another one Fury X in the future.
Also general Fiji owners thread.
another Fury*
My bet is itll have 1080ti performance in dx12, 1070 performance in dx11, and require 3 nuclear reactors to power
I meant Fiji instead of Fury, sorry for that
How can I acquire a Win10 license if I don't have any prior licenses of Windows to upgrade from?

Let Google be your friend, and stop being lazy. Fool

It certainly solves dumb shit like this thread
Why is Windows display scaling such dogshit compared to both GNU/Linux and Mac OS?
When will it be fixed?
>>55595061
I agree. Windows is garbage. Don't you get that "stub data" error when you try to start some program?
>>55595061
You can't fix it without breaking compatibility, and Microsoft (almost) never breaks compatibility.
>>55595061
>GNU/Linux scaling
>good

/g/,
I would like to learn python. I have previous programming experience in Ruby, Javascript, Java, C++, and Lua. However, it has been about 4 years since I have programmed. In addition, I was never good. I learned C++ at a rather young age and did not take a good grasp of fundamentals away. Therefore, I would like to learn python in the most comprehensive way as possible, and I want to learn as if I was a no-experience beginner.
What sites, e-books, video tutorials, etc. would you suggest? So far I have found learnpython.org, learnpythonthehardway.org, and of course, python.org official guide.
You're just gonna abandon it anyway, just like you did with the others. Why waste your time?
>>55595010
I stopped programming because life took over and I was given the opportunity to make some rather good money. Now, life has settled and I have free time to pursue hobbies like programming.
Now please, give something constructive to the conversation or fuck off.
Thanks.
>>55595090
No, he's right. You would be using Google and learning python right now instead of posting on /g/ asking for a blue pill if you actually had the intention of sticking it out.
Is OS X restrictive or locked down, when compared to Windows and Linux?
For example, is it generally harder to configure settings or customize your desktop? Are you stuck with the icons tha appear on your dock or can you change them?
Most people who own a Mac want something that just works, rather than caring about customization, so this question probably doesn't get asked too often.
>>55594946
Much can be changed in the underpinnings of OS X, but only with the understanding that Apple has done very little to facilitate that change in a user-friendly manner. If you understand *nix, there is little that you won't be 'able' to do, but as you said, macs just werk.
>>55594946
oh as far as dock icons, I remove everything and just use spotlight to launch what I want, though unfortunately it won't let me remove the finder or the trash wish as I might.
>>55594946
>Is OS X restrictive or locked down, when compared to Windows and Linux?
Yes.
