Windows 7 keeps nudging me to upgrade to 10. Do I have any alternatives? I tried Windows 10 and it has freezing problems. I can't go to Linux since I need Windows software.

My son just discovered what AMD is.
Yesterday, he didn't know what AMD is. Earlier this evening, he told me that his friend from school told him about it and out of curiosity he watched a few reviews during lunch. Then asked me if I knew what it was.
I lied and told him no, which prompted him to show me some 480 review. I tried really hard to laughed while watching it with him and after I finished watching it, he asked me what I thought about it. I told him that the people who are into that sort of thing are really pathetic. Then I said that no shit efficiency components will be allowed as long as I'm paying the bills.
He actually pouted and stuck up his bottom lip and left the room. I haven't seen him playing on the computer tonight and then he went to sleep about 2 hours ago.
I can't sleep. What happened tonight is really bothering me.
Should I be worried?
