Get a ubuntu 15.10 live cd and install it fresh/ see if you find your files and stuff you might have lost

I did startx and this came up. All my shit is gone it's just my background and it asks me to encrypt my device when I open terminal

It looks like you're on tty1, try Ctrl+Alt+F7

What distro, vanilla Ubuntu or *buntu?

Well after using

 sudo apt-get autoremove  

and

 sudo apt-get autoclean

and entering startx into the terminal. I got it to worked after restarting it. Nothing changed and nothing is gone. Thanks /g/
