What happens if I buy a japanese keyboard and use qwerty with it?
Are the additional keys ignored and I can rebind them to whatever? What's the default behavior in GNU/Linux?

Hi /g/
AI/ML researcher+coder here.
Looking for people to bounce ideas off each other, with knowledge in:
- botnets
- crypto
- gsm
- affiliate networks
Any good boards/slack/irc for such discussions? Not looking for services, just probing possibilities for now.
Thanks

okay, will try.. but don't see any advanced discussions here :(
What is the purpose of IRC?
How do I join a channel and fit in? Sometimes no one is even talking
irc is always pretty dead
What is the purpose of roads?
How do I become a pedestrian? Sometimes no one is even waking
you're 20 years too late

No one gives a fuck about your old outdated Windows 95 nostalgia theme. It's 2016 so make something with flat design if you want a fan base.
Where's the VEGA hype? AMD seems to have finally perfected their fabrication with this launch.
In fact, AMD has done such a good job, it seems that Vega has already burned down their launch venue before even being formally released. How amazing is that.
Who #TeamRed here?

Fury X fag reporting.
Dunno if I'll go ahead with Vega, or wait until the next round. I'm actually pretty happy with my Fury atm
The whole team red thing isn't inventive.
All it does is make me think of the communist party or maybe black panthers and piss me off.
Fucking pajeets don't know how to market.

Hey /g/ I am a recent graduate of a computer science course in Ireland.
I took a really long holiday after graduating and am only now applying to jobs. I would consider myself to be pretty average from my skill level ( graduated with a 2.1 )
Would you guys say it would be better for me to just take any job I find and develop skills on the side and in the company or should I start building up my github into a nice portfolio of small projects like ones I see suggested here?

Took me 1 and a half years to fine a job, Graduated with a Computer Science and Software Engineering Degree 1st in City University of London in 2014. Now I work as a Network Engineer @ minimum wage.
Going to university is the biggest mistake I have ever done in my entire life. I am in 46k Debt.

I heard this command speeds up your server. Is it true?
People don't lie on the internet bruh
the

Anyone else feel guilty for going to sleep in the morning? Even in my own house where I pay the bills. Staying up all night and going asleep as the sunrises makes me feel guilty.

Yes, and I work graveyard shifts.
Where were you when Apple® once again revolutionized® computing with the innovative® new iPad size?

I got a free 10.1" android tablet with 2 year 4g contract totalling out to $10 a month. I beat super Mario 64 on it and I'm gonna play some star fox 64 and conkers bad fur day next, and I can't wait to use it for school this semester.
But what were you saying about a 10.5" tablet? Is that one of those toys where you can't even install apps without the play store?
iPad isn't the problem. iPad has insane potential.
iOS is the one that needs to die.
desu I'd much rather have an iOS Pro than iPad Pro. Or better yet, ditch iOS completely and give me the same freedom* that macOS gives me.
*) sounds pretty funny
>>56090989
Yeah, iPads are actually pretty nice hardware wise, but I can't take iOS.
I usually don't fall for the Apple on suicide watch threads but is Apple truly unable to innovate anymore?
Why is every company switching to a subscription payment model? Is there something I'm missing?

$7/month or whatever the fuck makes it sound cheaper than buying $80 software every year for the newest version. they're also able to get you to use their cloud storage and it gives them access to your sweet, delicious data.

Because the up-front cost is always a barrier to sales. Just having a drain on your purse doesn't get noticed. Besides, you don't need to buy upgrades.
ipad 1 is too old to run anything properly now, can't even browse the web without crashing, so I thought I'd beard it up and install linus torvalds on this thing, but it turns out you nerds haven't made it work yet. Why not?
I too have a useless iPad 1. Can't do shit with it, can't even sell it for like $20 so I just have it stream porn on the side 24/7 lol
>>56090691
>Why can't I run Linux on the iPad
The iPad and any other new hardware needs to first be compatible or supported at least first with the Linux kernel.
This creates a problem for the correct detection of the CPU, motherboard, video card, sound card, wireless card, battery detection and usage and any other hardware found on the device.
>>56090714
>supported at least first with the Linux kernel
so why hasn't anyone done that? they make linux run on toasters and microwave ovens and shit
Can we get a thread for overclocking discussions?
Question straight away - am i ok to run my pc on high performance all the time ? On power saver it lowers the freqs but on high performance cpu is always running on max freq.
Will this shorten the life of my chip?
>>56090658
You're fine, its only when you significantly overvolt when there's an issue.
>>56090658
You can check the max temps and voltages your specific CPU can handle. If you're within those parameters, the life of your CPU shouldn't be affected too much, I wouldn't think. Maybe it would last 25 years instead of 30, idk.
