Are electric air blowers such as the EasyGo EGP-COM-011 worth the ~$50?

Buying cans of compressed air seems like a huge waste overall, but I'm skeptical of the effectiveness of these electric air blowers or non-electric alternatives.
The idea of using my vacuum cleaner (or other electric air compressors) doesn't set right with me, and the scare of electro-static discharge scares me enough away from that. On that note, there's a specific anti-static DataVac Electric Duster, but it's nearly $100. Then there's a cheaper DataVac and two alternatives (XPOWER A-2 and EasyGo EGP-COM-011) for ~$50 but they don't boast the ESD safe/anti-static status. Despite that, the cheaper models state they're designed for electronics. What's the risk of electro-static discharge? Is the ESD safe model just for the people who are extra paranoid?

Alternatively, there's "mechanical" solutions like the Giottos Rocket Air Blower that seems to be primarily used for photography. There's also ones that resemble air pumps for balls. Worried about the effectiveness of them - the latter seems like people work up a sweat for a proper cleaning.
Thoughts? Opinions? Experiences? Worst comes to worst, the cheapest canned air I could find (for a reasonable amount of cans) was 4 cans for ~$17 on eBay

It's more practical to get a hand vac/air blower combo.

Buy an air compressor. These tiny air blowers just don't compare to an actual air compressor.

Welcome to /fglt/ - Friendly GNU/Linux Thread.
Users of all levels are welcome to ask questions about GNU/Linux and share their experiences.

*** Please be civil, notice the "Friendly" in every Friendly GNU/Linux Thread. ***

Before asking for help, please check our list of resources[*].

If you would like to try out GNU/Linux you can do one of the following:
0) Install a GNU/Linux distribution of your choice in a Virtual Machine using VirtualBox or other software made for this puporse for safety purposes.
1) Use the Live ISO (if your distribution of choice has one) to boot directly into the GNU/Linux distribution without installing anything, that way, you can get to experience the GNU/Linux operating system without installing it.
2) Dual boot the GNU/Linux distribution of your choice along with Windows or macOS, this is recommended if you want to know more about the GNU/Linux operating system.
3) Go balls deep and replace everything with GNU/Linux.

So I somehow broke my slackware install attempting to upgrade 14.1 to 14.2. Since it's basically hosed, I figured I'd try to install gentoo.

In the past, I quit before I even got X running. That was because I had pretty poor hardware.

Any tips? I'm going to just read the handbook.

Installing Gentoo takes only two easily memorable commands:

1) fdisk /dev/sda && mkfs.xfs /dev/sda1 && mkswap /dev/sda2 && swapon /dev/sda2 && mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/gentoo/ && cd /mnt/gentoo/ && links http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml && md5sum -c stage3-*.tar.bz2.DIGESTS && tar xvjpf stage3-*.tar.bz2 && links http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors.xml && md5sum -c portage-latest.tar.bz2.md5sum && tar xvjf /mnt/gentoo/portage-latest.tar.bz2 -C /mnt/gentoo/usr && nano -w /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf && mirrorselect -i -o >> /mnt/gentoo/etc/make.conf && mount -t proc none /mnt/gentoo/proc && mount -o bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev && chroot /mnt/gentoo/ && env-update && source /etc/profile && emerge --sync && cd /etc && rm /etc/make.profile && ln -s ../usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/desktop make.profile && cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/US/Eastern /etc/localtime && cd /usr/portage && scripts/bootstrap.sh && emerge -e system && emerge vim && emerge gentoo-sources && cd /usr/src/linux && make menuconfig && make install modules_install && vim /etc/fstab && passwd && emerge grub vixie-cron syslog-ng dhcpcd && cp /boot/grub/grub.conf.sample /boot/grub/grub.conf && vim /boot/grub/grub.conf && grep -v rootfs /proc/mounts > /etc/mtab && grub-install --no-floppy /dev/hda && init 6 && emerge gnome mozilla-firefox openoffice && emerge --sync && emerge portage openssh

2) reboot

Hey /g/. I started building a computer up a few years ago but never got finished. Now I want to finish it, but need to know what graphics card to get. (I don't play very graphics intensive games, just things like BeamNG and CSGO occasionally)

I planned on buying a GTX 760 off of ebay because that's what my other computer has been using for years now and it still runs great. I thought you guys might have a better suggestion though. Are there any newer cards that have about the same power as my 760 for around the same price?

Is Java the best beginner language? Why do universities usually start by teaching java?

Is that one of them cp pictures with photoshoped on clothes?
>>

because muh java

it's what companies want

is python the best thing to learn for a beginner if my ultimate interest lies in automating basic tasks i have to do?

please tell me if this is possible in python or if i need a different language capable of this.

1) i want to be able to do targeted searches online using keywords like "Basketball Court Rules .pdf" and pull these pdf's that I need or atleast collected to be reviewed

2) I want to be able to generate forms in the pdf's, wherein the python script would scan the entire document and pick keywords that indicate that they have a form field; thus if it said something like "date of birth" then we could populate it with a form that would display the saved date of birth from the database

3) I would like for it to automate a certain clicking process to confirm leads have been contacted and confirm again that they have either been receptive or not interested. Can this be programmed to go through a list of 50-100 clients and be ready to click certain checkboxes and fill in certain fields if necessary like Middle Name, then clicking on the "proceed" button and then either picking "receptive" or "not interested"?

These are many of the main functions of my job; i was wondering if learning python could help me automate this shit because i probably waste a good 1 each day just doing banal work like this when i could free it up with a script.

if not python, what would you recommend as a better language for my interests?

You want selenium + python.

I recommend reading and following Automate The Boring Stuff with Python.

It has a chapter on Selenium too.
