They spent their build budget on high end hardware and stuffed it into a cheap case. If you take care of your electronics and your 10 year old laptop is still in excellent condition, it's a great buy.
If you're a mongoloid retard and drop your laptop all the time it's going to fall apart in two years.

Okay /g/. I want to learn Python but don't know where to start. Tell me what to do.

Open book. Read. Practice. Finish book. Continue practice until competent.
Not rocket science, amigo.

PNY is just Palit under different name.

How to remove this shit?
Fucking Windows 10. I don't want to have security center enabled.
>>56095882
Upgrade to Windows 7 or Lubuntu. If you wanted to have control of your PC, you shouldn't have installed Windows 10.

So, I've run into a weird problem. Every time I turn off my laptop, the repeat delay and repeat rate of my keyboard reset to very slow values. It doesn't visually change in the control panel keyboard options (it remains at the fastest speed possible) but the change is definitely noticable, and, frankly, very annoying.
Is there any way to fix this?

Do i need anti virus if i never run anything i download? This is with an adblocker on the browser.
Or can i be infected by the "site" itself. Thought you might be able to know.
Depends, do you have Flash installed?
No, antivirus is useless and causes more problems then it solves.
Yes you can be infected.
Stop using Windows.
>>56095709
I uninstalled it long ago. I don't know how it works for browsers though if they have it in built.

Now I'm stuck with a found laptop (Acer Va70) and it appearently had a Transcend 512gb 2'5 SSD in it.
What is a good way to analyse the data that is on the SSD so I can give it back to the owner?
>>56095585
Just plug into your desktop or any dock station and live boot from linux, for safety measures.
>>56095585
>random laptop and charger next to a tree
I could see somebody absentminded leaving a laptop somewhere, but why the fuck would one even take out the charger under a tree?
Give it back Rayquan
Computer failed updated and bitlocker locked, now windows will not boot. Tried to repair the partition but it when entering the recovery key it still would not repair but it did allow for command line. We tried to copy the user info but when trying to opening it on another machine it said that the data was corrupted and could not be read. We think that the data may still be encrypted but not sure how to go about repair or recovery.
>>56095561
If you kept your stuff on separate backup hard drive, you shouldn't worry. Just reload Windows and save yourself a headache.

There, I got all the shitposting done for you, now the real thread can begin.
Gonna try to implement an L2TP/IPSec VPN service on FreeBSD in an attempt to learn more about how the OS works

Installed OpenBSD 5.9 in vitual machine, my host is gentoo.
Applied security patches from errata, installed xfce4.
Chromium and firefox in ports for 5.9 seem to be frozen at old versions.
Are browsers in ports patched against expoits?
So, /g/, I fucked up. About 2 weeks ago i dropped my new Moto x pure edition, and broke it's screen. I wasn't too worried because i generally fix my own stuff. So my new screen came a week ago, and the screwdrivers that where with it didn't fit, and i tried them on a few screws, and basically i stripped those screws. Now I've got a good t3 screwdriver but the screws are stripped beyond belief. I'm pretty desperate, and fairly sad. Can anybody please help me get those screws off.
Good luck anon
Drill them out and get new ones.
Drill a little groove across the screw head with a Dremel or similar and use a flat head screwdriver
Firefox is now unbearably slow and I can no longer use it. For example, loading the /g/ catalog takes fucking 15 seconds.

This motherfucker was rocking:
AMD Athlon XP2000+
Samsung 256MB DDR266 PC2100
MSI K7N2 Delta-L
Leadtek Winfast Fx 5600 256MB
JNC 4JA 8654BL case w/ 400w PSU (literally who)
Later on got upgraded with:
Additional 256MB RAM
AMD Athlon XP3000+
Coolermaster Aero 7 CPU cooler
Connect3d ATI X800PRO 256MB

>that PSU
If you're from Europe, seriously dump that shit of a PSU.
Don't get me wrong, but JNC's PSUs are the most cancerous tier PSUs ever made. I had a lot of these, rebranded under a lot of stuff. (JNC,ANS,Premier and P&O) Try getting at least something decent, like a ISO power supply,or do some research and get a CWT ISO based PSU. I had one of those with a similar config and I nearly was to lose the system thanks to the shitty JNC PSU that blew. I had to use some generic Intex PSU (which literally had the insides the size of a laptop charger).

I think you can still find a new PSU. Unless this one is one of those ancient 1999 JNCs that were simply updated to have a P4 connector,in which case you can just crack it open, and just replace the capacitors (Digikey or Mouser have genuine Japanese capacitors like Panasonic,Rubycon,Nichicon,or even United Chemicon (UCC) ) and with a new fan it should last almost forever.
