Are USB wireless adapters a meme?
In my new apartment I can't get the ethernet port to work (keeps cutting in and out and even when it's in it says unidentified) so I bought one of these USB wireless adapters from Walmart. Basically I have 5 bar connection but I have huge lag spikes where my outgoing will get 30% packet loss while still maintaining 5 bar conn Meanwhile my incoming connection is fine.

Is this the stupid little USB's fault?

Should I buy a real wireless network card?

If its just 802.11n you are fine with USB2.
If you want to get AC speeds you should use USB3 or a pcie card.

Tl;dr: I got an Amazon Fire Stick with Kodi on it and I don't know shit about how to use it. Need help. Please.

I just got an Amazon Fire Stick with Kodi on it and I have no fucking clue what exactly to do to use it. Anyone on here familiar with this shit? If so, some helpful info. and suggestions would be very much appreciated.

I was told that I can sometimes watch movies that are still in theaters and watch PPV events for free, which are both great things, but I'm more concerned with being able to watch some regular and premium cable channels. Will I be able to use this Fire Stick with Kodi on it to view channels like A&E and Investigation Discovery? ESPN and Fox Sports? HBO and Showtime?

Also, does anyone know how fast an Internet connection is needed to be able to stream/use this Fire Stick properly? I am in a small town and I already fucked up service with the main cable TV/Internet provider in town, so I'm stuck with a secondary service provider and my Internet service is only 7Mbps Downstream right now.

Btw, I haven't even used a Fire Stick before, so all I really know is that I will need to plug it in to the HDMI port on my TV. If someone would offer me some advice about this shit, I would really appreciate it.

One more thing. I don't know what the proper description/terminology is, but the Fire Stick with Kodi on it is supposed to have been jailbroken/rooted/hacked.

That's it /g/ this time i'm doing it, i'm going to read through the K&R !

I'm waiting for my new PC to arrive and have nothing to do for a couple of weeks. I want to start doing real stuff when my build arrive so in the mean time i will read through the K&R, do the exercises and maybe start a small project by the end of it.

I'm starting friday with 6 hours a day (i was previously in med school and akin to workload closer to 10h/day) and intend to finish within 10 days.

I'm not new to programming, been on and off for about a year now. I started with a MIT intro course that was OOP and i've done some small projects and stuff in C already.

I'm using vim and gcc from the terminal, nothing fancy.

How do you organize yourself when learning a new language ? How do you schedule your time ?
Are the exercise from the K&R ok ? or outdated ?

I have a couple of days before starting, what should i do to prepare myself ?

I already have a couple of bottle of cum stored for when i need fuel and gentoo is compiling AS WE SPEAK on my pi zero and should be ready for when i'm done reading.

Hey /g/ - liquid cooling noob here.

I've come to hate how big even a mid-tower ATX case is. I'm planning a small form factor build and have decided to go mini-ITX built inside a Fractal Core 500 (pictured.) I've also decided on a low profile AIO CPU liquid cooling solution such as Corsair's H100i as a radiator / intake.

Is that intake going to be cool enough after it passes through the radiator to do anything worthwhile inside the case?

Also, assuming I decide I like this sort of thing, would it be completely insane to put one of those hybrid AIO liquid/air cooled GPUs in here with the radiator acting as exhaust for the case? Are these things just a gimmick?

Has anyone replaced their graphics reference air cooler with a NZXT Kraken G10 and a CPU CLC? I'm planning on putting the Corsair H90 onto my GTX 780 soon as summer is coming to Aus and I want to OC further. Any tips or suggestions?

i have an r9 390 with an h105 attached via nzxt kraken
under load with ~17% overclock, gpu remains under 55C (norcal summer x,x)

but thats a huge improvement over the stock asus dcu2 cooler which would easily hit 80C with no OC

Have not replaced any stock coolers, but I have the EVGA hybrid GTX970. Idles at 20C and never gets over 42C.
