Trying out different distros, mostly. I used to be a rampant hopper--well I still am, I guess--until I told myself to just create a VM. The same thing happens in a VM that would've happened if I'd installed the distro on metal: I get bored after a day and want to try something else.

So what stupid things have I done with VirtualBox? Enabled my own mental illness, for one.

No, I use VMWare Workstation though.

You can get an office-used Sandy Bridge i5 desktop and slap a GeForce 1050 in it for about $200.

It'll outperform any gaming laptop until the $2,500 range, and you won't be stuck with a shitty built-in monitor/keyboard.
