>paying $400 for a GTX 770 when the GTX 760 is only $250 and basically the same performance wise
no one on /g/ was dumb enough to buy a 770 - right?
oops

>literally throwing $150 away for a trivial performance increase
Hi /g/, I'm the guy whose computer broke last week, thanks a lot for your help, but they said it can't be fixed. I have a different issue, I'm gonna need a server because my kids need to share a printer, I was looking it up and I found this 180 days free trial of Windows 2008 for servers. I'll definitely be buying it, as I need it permanently, but my issue is that it is asking me to install one out of 6 different service packs, and I don't know what to pick. Could the problem be that I burned it into a direct video disc instead of a computer disk? Or is it that I'm using the virtual trial tool instead of a real computer? The download page said nothing about different service packs, but to be honest I don't care about any of that, I just want it to work.
Setting aside the obvious price difference, I would like to have some free space to make changes in the future, so I guess the full service packs are a no go. Then, which one of the Core service packages is the best for my needs? I don't really want to spend more than 700ish bucks, so if the Standard can do it I'll buy that one. What do you think?
Also advise about what hardware to buy would be appreciated. Would this work on the same computer model that I broke last week? You know the one.
>>57704452
Standard full.
Core is terminal only (no gui).
Enterprise and Datacenter have extra features you will never ever use.
>>57704452
You're fucking welcome!
>>57704452
You would be better off running Windows Server 2012R2/2016 Essentials. The management is much more geared towards home users.

why the fuck do keycaps cost so much i hate my life
hey /mkg/, so I've gotten into mech keyboards this year and now my dad wants one for Christmas. He used to give me shit for spending so much on MKBs but I guess I won him over. here's what he wants:
>Budget
$120ish or under
>Location
US West Coast
>Preferred switch type
"The easiest to press"; I interpret this as MX Reds
>Layout
"I never use the numpad"; TKL or 60ish with arrowkeys
>Backlight
He wants RGB
>Previous/current keyboards
He's never even tried one but there's no goddamn way he'd put in the effort to try one first. We're several state away, but I have a Pok3r RGB w Browns and I just bought the XMIT Hall Effect TKL Bamboo.

Why are CS students so afraid of math?
Its like 2/3 of cs uni is crying after first calculus lectures
>I just want to make gamess reeeee
it has science in name
Calc 2 sucks though.
>>57702553
Why?
cs on better uni's has calc 3 aswell
Because they study CS because they watched Mr. Robot and the likes without having any idea what CS actually is.
What does /g/ think of the Chromebook pixel?
Looks great, but limited by Storage and OS

Double the storage, give it a better price, install Gentoo, and you have the perfect ThinkPad killer

Need to get a new graphics card. Thinking about the 1060. Not sure about the particular stats of this one.

Should I go for it? Is ASUS a good brand for it?
Remember when freetards were flaunting this desktop cube meme? Few years back.
>Dude can Windows XP do this??? Hahahaha Linux Desktop surpassed Windows
Yeah.
How many of you use this cube feature today?
But don't worry freetards. 2017 is coming soon, I'm sure it will be the year of the Linux Desktop!
(((GNU)))) fans will still defend the Linux Desktop

So it's either botnet (Discord/Skype) or nothing? How did we let that happen /g/ents?
So is Usenet as a discussion platform.
But at least Usenet is just ruled by spergs, IRC is just crazy.

Normies probably use the "scan and fix" thing but I've always said no because it always works perfectly anyway and I don't trust it.

Since it's full of autists here - how /g/ organizes music? Folders and file names in particular.
This is what I'd like to do now that I'm starting to do it:
>pirate shit
>reneme folder to just: "Artist Name"
>if more albums, inside: "YYYY - Album Name"
>inside the album folder
>file names: "NN - Song Name"
>artwork of the album: "cover.png(or .jpg?)"
>tags are almost always OK
bump?
