There's nothing going on. When will the future come?

The only thing that is kind of futuristic is the Smartphones we all have

Everything else is still shit.

I want to live in a futuristic utopia, will it ever happen, say, in 20, 30 years?

Fucking Singularitarians trolled me to believe their meme.

i7 skylake, gtx 960 4gb, 8 gb ddr4 for 800$, good coolers. It's better than both and costs less while new

why is this board filled with such autism just put them behind the fucking back panel
>>
I like to bind the motherboard power connector back on itself right by the plug, and maybe run it through that rounded guide on the back of the case. This keeps the cable nice and flat. Same thing with the cpu power connector. You can twist the cable before plugging them in to get them to lay against sides etc. Instead of binding all those front panel cables in the middle of the case, try to do that in the 5.25 bays, it looks cleaner. Use lots of zipties is my main rule.

What's up with this "audiophile" meme?

I got curious when I started reading about foobar's fame and Spotify's high quality service and thought maybe I was missing out. I wasn't.

I just tested out my only friend's $700 Seinheiser headphones with a few of my uncompressed .flac songs. Compared with my normal headphones and even earbuds there's no difference besides the capacity to process the bass sounds.

I'm calling B.S. on this.

is this pajeet right?

is math that important?

I doubt majority of this meme board would be able to do anything more advenced that addiction

>Right now, there’s a cultural push to untie the historical link between advanced math and programming that could partially deter engineers from entering the field. But those who have a strong foundation in math will have the best jobs of the future. Let’s stop separating math from programming for short-term relief and, instead, focus on fundamental, unchanging truths with which we’ll engineer the future.

Being well-versed in math is the only thing that separates a good programmer from a pajeet that has memorized the entire specification of Java but can only write cumbersome and unoptimized code.
>>
The most valuable positions in the near future are in machine learning / data science and those are applied and theoretical mathematics. It also helps a lot if you know what makes a good algorithm fast. If you just want to be the low level guy implementing stuff then sure you won't need as much math knowledge. But you won't be the one taking decisions and leading projects.

I just switched over from Fedora (with MATE) to Solus (with MATE), and I'm blown away by how much faster it is. Wanted to try it after seeing how vocal and upfront the people who didn't like it are.

It boots up in under 6 seconds on my HDD, which is incredible since Fedora used to take a full minute.

It's the same feeling I got when I switched my laptop to an SSD. Everything on Solus loads faster and the OS is more responsive and snappy.

Why does /g/ always throw a hissy fit when Solus is brought up? I'm genuinely curious about this. It's a nice distro. It's fast and it works without hassle, in my own personal experience.

Pic unrelated, I didn't want to post a desktop.

Bump. I want to know too.

Why is pic related the best distro hands down? I even updated to the recently released version 25 and everything JUST WORKS.

Why is this distro the best one and how do all other distros get so much wrong?

I don't know. I have never used it before version 24. I didn't notice anything coming from Debian.

I'm at a loss. Literally every single feature on my laptop works. First time ever on Linux.

I think I'm going to format it and install it again.
