Is a Chromebook a valuable option for basic tasks?
63 posts and 5 images submitted.
>>
basic tasks yes, but then one day you'll want to do that one other task which needs a real-ass computer, but you're sitting in front of a chromebook
>>
>sometimes want a chromebook as a shitposting machine
>realize I need to be able to compile C, Verilog, and Java for school
>then want something with really good battery life, but don't want to spend the money on a macbook
Is the Thinkpad meme worth it lads? How good is the battery on one of them if you run Ubuntu?

i'm using MSI afterburner to apply a custom fan curve on startup, since by default it will get to something retarded like 75ยบ C on idle before the fans start up. other than that, no OC applied whatsoever.

do you think that was the issue?

Post your component list, rate other anons', ask questions in general.

Yeah, I have a franken tc submariner that I adore but that was a lot of money (particularly since I've been swapping in genuine parts lately, but started at $600).

Was just curious if there was anything that looked nice from China that was no-brand or something with a nice movement. I'm probably going to go with a SNK809 and a nice nato strap, since the one it comes with sucks.

Wish it wasn't bead blasted. I might go crazy with it and polish it like this guy did:

Former M50 user here, now on sony 7506's. Thinking about getting another pair of M50's because I really liked the sound quality. Is there anything else in the sub $250 range that is better? (Don't really care about whether it is closed or open back) Will mainly use them for music+podcasts and youtube videos. I get a lot of use out of my headphones and wear them for long periods of time so comfort is semi important.

I have a 256GB 950 pro as my boot drive right now. I'll probably get a 1-2TB one in 2-3 years and throw the 950 pro into another computer or get a pcie adapter for it.
>>
If those TB SSD drop under $100

because the capacity is the only thing driving the price so high and it doesn't even saturate PCIe x4 (it comes close though)
By the time the M2 connection is saturated, a 1TB SSD that can saturate it won't have to cost $600+
