So, is there any madman on /g/ who actually uses ayyyymd gpu and cpu in his desktop? How is it surviving a trial of time?

After Ryzen comes out, like 40% of /g/ will have dual AMD/AMD setups.

It's difficult to not become excited.
>>
It's not.

My 8 year old ATI GPU is still being used and gas given me no problems (that weren't driver-related and relatively easy to fix). And I still push it pretty heavily.

Yes (as is VRMark), and yes. Backblaze blows Carbonite and CrashPlan out of the water.

What does /g/ think about refurbished latitudes?
>Dirt cheap, typically about $100 on ebay

cut gaming out and you're good, you cant game on any laptop really without turning it into a space heater, i cant use something running at 150f.
>>
>>59013057
I'm using a latitude right now. After gaming for awhile using it you kinda get used to it.
>>
been using refurb latitudes since mid 2000's
cheaper than thinkpads and sturdier. better keyboards nowadays.

Actually wasn't there an issue because they use the same Fabs for them, but have a few months switchover time, so we'll always have a shortage of one or the other?

>When browser vendors make breaking changes to developer APIs, it's left to add-on and extension creators whether they fix their offerings. Usually, if it's a small change, no problem. But what about massive overhauls? For Luís Miguel, responsible for a number of popular Firefox add-ons, Mozilla's switch to the WebExtensions API this year will signal his exit from the add-on scene.

>Rather than rework his add-ons, which include FindBar Tweak, OmniSidebar and Beyond Australis, Miguel has decided to call it quits

Is there any good free alternative to After Effects? I've been doing some simple editing and stitching of clips together just using ffmpeg but it's starting to get mindnumbing for any chaining any complex effects and motion overlays.

I tried Wax and Blackmagic Fusion but neither of them seemed to deal with my media files very well. Also tried installing Nuke Foundry, but it wanted me to create an account and start authorize computers just for the trial and I'm not sure if that's worth taking it out of the sandbox yet..

I'm gonna say no. If there is an alternative (free or otherwise) to After Affects, it's gonna be about 1% as good. It's a really great product, a global industry standard, which is why it's behind a paywall, unfortunately.
>>
>>59012628
Damn, is there any way to still buy just a standalone version? I don't mind paying but I don't want to "subscribe to the cloud".
>>
>>59012634
Adobe After Effects CS6 is the last non cloud version, but I don't know if any license keys are still available. Many people at the time hated the looming cloud model and bought a whole bunch of CS6 license keys

Might be worth shopping around for it. I hate the cloud model, especially since you lose access to the software if you ever stop paying, even if it's 2 years from now.

Hopefully, this kills MediaTek, which provides among the worst software support for everything from smartphone SoC to laptop Wi-Fi chipset while also violating GPL left and right.

I'm Brazilian, a disgusting national company called "Positivo" released a 10-core mediakek smartphone, the ads were hilarious normie bullshit, like "TEN CORES, IT'S FAST AF BUY IT NOW" and favela kids dancing with it.

It was a failure tho, sad to see they can't even compete with snapshit.

My college just got a donation to get every student an iPad pro, apple pencil and apple keyboard. I know that it's good but why couldn't they be smart and get us something like surface pros or Samsung tab pro 12 inch. My question is what benefits come from the iPad if any?

I own an iPad Pro, SP3, and SP4, and can tell you that the iPad pro is better in just about every way in my personal experience. This is a bait post. Use the damn tools you are given, use them well, and make more tools.
>>
>>59012281

It just works, and it's cheaper TCO. The Surface Pro is amazing but it's also a botnet.

You may want a function that doesn't return something unlike lambda
