What does /g/ think about refurbished latitudes?
>Dirt cheap, typically about $100 on ebay
>great for small gaming such as counter strike or tf2
>Great for programming on the go

cut gaming out and you're good, you cant game on any laptop really without turning it into a space heater, i cant use something running at 150f.

I'm using a latitude right now. After gaming for awhile using it you kinda get used to it.
been using refurb latitudes since mid 2000's
cheaper than thinkpads and sturdier. better keyboards nowadays.
>not a thinkpad
End it cunt also
>install gentoo
A con I would say about the latitude is when installing debian, it's a nigger to setup wifi.

my 6500 had broadcom wifi and that required proprietary driver that no distro will come with. my 6530 worked right off the bat
don't knock dell latitudes for being linux unfriendly if you do that you are bashing the linux friendliest laptops of their class
>coil whine during c6 or c7 power states
>c2d or c2q throttling issues
fucking garbage

I'm using a refurbished E6430s right now.
I've been considering getting one off Dell's site but almost all of them have shit screen resolution.

solution: stop using a server OS on a laptop
install ubuntu

just like thinkpads. most refurbs will have 1366 x 768 rn but if you go to ebay there are tons of sellers with 1600 x 900 or full hd screens
these are options, business laptops that are refurb tend to have the cheap screen though because businesses are jewish
Are thinkpads -really- the best though
I mean isn't there anything used that can beat the x220? I'm on the market for a new cheap laptop, I like smaller, but really it seems weird that it wouldn't have any competitors
>>59014269
the x201 beats it, for one
>>59014269
e6220 would be closest to the x220. no trackpoint, so you'd gotta live with whatever touchpad dell put in there.
a lot of the appeal of sandy/ivy x/t series thinkpads is that they're consistently available on ebay, in reasonable shape, for around $150. might come across a better deal for [non-thinkpad business laptop], but there's not as much community support for them, which i've realized is pretty important when trying to get detailed information about [dumb issue], or a weird use-case like egpus

I got a E6430U refurbished it's pretty nice.

>whatever touchpad dell put in there.
it's usually an ALPS touchpad, they are worse than synaptics

Do any of these have a fully centered layout?
