I don't get it. Why isn't there a single good laptop manufacturer anymore?

I used a MBP 2013 for years until Apple lost their minds and released the piece of shit 2016 models, so I went out and bought a Thinkpad X1. It had a mediocre trackpad, keyboard, and display and Lenovo had shit-tier driver support so I returned it.

Then I read the reviews and bought an XPS 13". It had glowing reviews. $1800 later and this thing coil whines like a dog whistle when I do anything on it. I RMAed it, and Dell sent me another one which coil whines worse than the first one. Dell tells me its a known issue and they are "working on a fix". WTF. It's insane that a $1800 laptop would sound and feel like a cheap piece of plastic.

I'm at a loss.

So I am interested in how people torrent and what methods they use to avoid getting caught by content creators who are looking to sue them for illegally downloading their shit.

Is using Tor safe? What about VPN's? Eli the computer guy from youtube has 2 specific videos warning about these services.

So lets say taking this advice into consideration you decide to use an alternative browser and private VPN service you feel comfortable with.

And lets say your smart enough to not use your own computer because its impossible to spoof MAC adresses so you go to walmart and buy a cheap laptop paid for in cash that runs windows (apple to expensive, chromebooks are owned by google and are shit).

You take your new cheap ass windows laptop install a secure os like linux. You go to starbucks because it would obviously be retarded to do if from your own network. And because fast food places like Carls Jr are shit and only Starbucks pays for halfway decent speeds because wifi is the ONLY reason people go there.

You buy a new flash drive for use on that computer only and illegally download all your torrents onto it.

Say you are even so paranoid you wear a disguise at the starbucks and remember not to park your car there in the parking lot. You actually walked miles to the starbucks from another parking lot and chose a location 50 miles from your house.

You go so far as doing it all from behind the dumpster for the business. You took an online class for lockpicking and were able to crack that master lock in 54 seconds flat. You even remembered to use nose plugs to protect your nostrills from the smell of piss.

Is this strategy good enough? Or could they still fucking catch you? Are you screwed into paying for music, movies and porno no matter what?
