Also use coffee filters instead of paper towels. That's what your suspossed to use to remove CPU thermal paste. No fibers and it air dryer.

Microfiber cloth, q-tips, 90% rubbing alcohol and some compressed air. Off or on, doesn't really matter unless you're retarded and spill the alcohol all over the place.

Maybe turn it off if you're going to do some harder sweeps to clean the pad since you don't want anything opening or whatnot.

This. Don't clean the screen with the alcohol though, you can fuck it up. Use a microfiber cloth, and some vinegar.
