thoughts on the blackberry priv?

Had one for three weeks to test out. Solid device, if you miss the old blackberry keyboard thats the best you'll get.

That being said costs way too much for the chipset in it. If they added something like curved edge screen or other feature to justify the pricetag then it would be acceptable.

It's a shame it runs Android

Is this thing good or not
I currently have a 300gb HDD boot drive and a 1tb for all of my important shit
The boot drive is some €8 euro drive I got in a second hand shop
Reliable but takes ages to boot up my OS
The Kingston worth it or not?
I'm a cheapskate so I'm not dropping a fuckton on an sdd just because of a brand
Either reliable or it isnt

kingston a shit

They're just fine. They're shit in benchmarks compared to more expensive ones, but it's still an SSD so it's orders of magnitude faster than a spinning disc when doing random read/write. They're probably more reliable than samsung 840 evos were.

I know we all hate being asked about "gaming laptops," so this is not the question you think it will be. Not exactly, anyway.

I need a relatively new-ish laptop to play games, but I'm NOT looking for a gaming laptop. I have a perfectly good gaming desktop I have no desire to get rid of; but I just took a new job that necessitates travel, so I need something that can play modern indie title and mid-tier games. I have an ancient laptop from when I was in college in 2008, but the last time I used it, it struggled running something like Gunpoint and AGS games and even struggled when watching Netflix. I'm looking to stay under $400, but I'm ideally looking at something with a discrete graphics card. It doesn't have to be a 9XX or 10XX card, but discrete graphics would be ideal.

I found this,
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-15-6-laptop-amd-a6-series-4gb-memory-500gb-hard-drive-black/5606300.p?skuId=5606300
which has discrete graphics while being cheaper than a Chromebook, but obviously that all seems way too good to be true.

I'd buy a Switch for travel, but they're sold out anywhere, and scalpers who think I'm going to pay $400 for a used one can drown in an ocean of dicks. And I'd buy a used laptop, but I'm reluctant to buy any used electronics at all.

So, what buy?

APUs are very slow due to integrated graphics
>>
>HP
Absolutely not. They are notoriously awful for heat management and that's exactly the kind of flaw which gaming will bring out.

>A6
Meh. I think you'll be disappointed with your mid-tier games.

>what buy?
Go on Newegg and do a power search on notebooks. Plug in all of your required specs (such as screen size and RAM) and then check all the boxes for discrete GPUs. See what comes up on a price sort.

Or maybe just do what I do and play FTL on a netbook when traveling. Keep it simple.
>>
>>60183651
I just tried doing a search with the only criterion being discrete graphics, and the cheapest laptop on Newegg is close to $500, which is a bit outside of what I'm willing to spend.

i5 will be the future i3 tier processor. You'll be capable of webbrowsing at least until 2025. A 2008 C2D is still usable in 2017, if you don't game or convert much on it.

Has anyone on /g/ bought one of these chink water cooling kits? I was thinking of getting this one for the resivour and rad, then upgrading the CPU block and changing out the fluid. I've only got like $200 to cool my CPU, but I want a custum loop.

i'm going to look for the software i need in the microsoft store... said no one ever.

one of the things that pushed me to drop windows and switch permanently to gnu plus linux was when windows 8 tried to shove this shit.

i would have given a chance if they allowed me to install their shitty free """"apps"""" without an account, but nope, you had to have a m$ account.

they can go fuck themselves.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but is it ok to google for porn?

I have used the search engines of porn pages most of my life, more effective than googling it.

But lately I googled "I'll Cum Inside My Little Sister, and Her Friends Too" and it got me thinking, can I get put on a list for googling something? Will they send the feds or the cops on me? Is there any precedent of this?

What if I google "How to have anal with my grade school sister". Do they even care?

apparently there are no laws on conspiracy over raping / molesting children so go ahead
>>
It's unlikely that seedy searches themselves will trigger any action unless you include particular keywords. However your search history could come back and bite you in the ass if you're investigated for some other reason.
