Can you explain further?
nyaa dying reminded me of the pitfalls of centralization
torrents are half decentralized in that even without a tracker you can sometimes rely on DHT
however, that still leaves the problems of discovery and curation
what are the latest solutions to those problems?
gnunet is the future of sharing and the internet in general
>discovery
Just ping everyone and index found nodes
>curation
Encryption, also used in discovery as proof-of-work disincentivizes poisoning the tables.
I think I'll develop my own shitty mesh net in a few years.

Discord is babbies first WebRTC client targeted at /v/, since they will gobble up literally anything, no matter how shitty it is.
Deal with the i's because I'm on mobile and you're all too lazy to make a thread edition.

Does anyone wanna help test my Pinturillo rip-off? It's my first attempt at using node js and it's basically Pictionary in your browser. I'm probably gonna buy a domain and throw some ads on it but I have no idea how to build a playerbase.
I'd also love some design critique because I had a lot of trouble designing things (especially the lobby) to look good on mobile while making use of the available space in a desktop window. I haven't tested it on all browsers/devices yet (no Apple) so let me know if it looks wonky.

I can't express how much this board pisses me off with that shit.
How good is this compared to other starter Linux distros?

It's shit. Use Linux Mint.
They used Ubuntu to make it what it Ubuntu used to be in the good old days.
Ubuntu is shit. Stay away from it.

A few told me to install Ubuntu with cinnamon instead of getting Mint. Though cinnamon is native to Mint, is there much of a difference between the two distros (with cinnamon or without)
I want to learn about servers / networking / switches.. obviously I could build a full lab which would cost me a pretty penny, I want to learn about mysql replication across different physical boxes or maybe even vms.. is there a cost effective way of doing this? im trying to be conscious of power consumption and space (very little space) I was thinking about just getting a switch, and a few low powered machines to learn this on? any advice /g/ i know a raspberry pi stack would be laughable..maybe some old laptops? please suggest a poor fag who wants to practice linux server administration locally at home.

So I have a netbook (pic related) and it's pretty useless as a computer. It has window 7 installed and lags out furiously with every single command.
So I thought about finding a much less demanding OS to use it as a basic youtube/notes/facebook machine. Lubuntu popped up a few places.
Thing is, I now shit about Linux, and since a lot of you seem to use it often, I was wondering what would you do with a shitty netbook were you in my position?
>>60183568
I had a 1001px. Windows 10 ran better than 7. Lubuntu might work fine but it's still not going to be what you'd call fast. This is a machine that will benefit from tinkering or a more custom distro to run smoothly.
Lubuntu is good.
I have Xubuntu on mine! I think it is great.
>>60183568
Fedora LXDE is another option if you're okay with no fun allowed. Works well with Intel Atoms.
Under the argument it 'promotes objectification of living women"
Also: Do you think we'll make it to a cyberpunk dystopia in our lifetimes? Do you think transhumanists have a valid game plan for life extension technology?
I personally think it'd be possible but people in general don't give two shits about anything which means it'll NEVER EVER.
Everything gets lobbied. Worry about bills.
