I am though
I am. It's alright. The "clear history on exit" setting didn't work until I turned on the same setting in Internet Explorer settings, weirdly. It also sucks with VP9 encoding.
It's time to upgrade to a new graphics card (Currently have Radeon HD4850 and drivers are not supported for a long time)
I think I will buy RX 580 8GB. Is Sapphire pulse good cooler? Most important thing is that it's quiet
>>60181199
The Pulse is the same shitty cooler from their 480. You want the beefed-up Nitro 580 that has a much larger heatsink.

What's the best linux laptop?
A Chromebook.
>>60181200
It might run precompiled gentoo but try and install something else there and you will learn why you're wrong.
>>60181189
Didn't know that Linux also makes laptops.

Hi, I am looking to get myself more retro pieces. At the moment I have an iBook G4 which is on OSX Tiger but I am looking for a Mac that runs Mac OS 9. Is it worth my while buying a Mac G4, if I can find one on Ebay for a reasonable price.
I am looking to use it for retrogaming.
Yeah they are cheap at the moment, but prices will likely go up in the coming years.
>>60181690
probably not, they're not retro enough and will probably never be really considered for collections, at least not in our lifetimes. the only people who really need/want these are those audio engineers who need a specific version of say, pro tools, to run a specific plug-in, on specific hardware.
i still have two rack mount conversions from marathon computing for these systems.
>>60181812
OP here, I was looking to get one of the older Mac's from the last 80's/early 90's but I have read there is to many reliability problems with them.
So I was thinking perhaps a G4 would still be a good machine for running OS9 as it can still run alot of older software.
>Why am I even running Linux?
Do Linux users really ask themselves this?
some probably do, same goes for windows users, that's why they try linux
>>60180739
Sometimes, and then I'm reminded exactly why when I have to help one of my relatives with Windows 10.
>>60180739
>Linux
Linux is a kernel. Do you mean GNU/Linux? Because if so, then I do sometimes. I remember that I have been pressured into using a computer from an early age and that using free software is the only way to take my computing back for my own purposes, rather than serving someone else.
>buy new Mac mini from apple
>icons are shit
>I’ll just change the icons
>actually you need to be an administrator
>I am logged in as the fucking administrator
>just unlock the permissions
>still don’t have permissions after unlocking
>Lol you need to log in as root user
>still can’t alter icon as root user
>I just bought a computer directly from your company and am the only person using it
>I can’t motherfucking copy and paste a new motherfucking icon in place of the shit icons
Why is this so shit?
It was designed for children and homosexuals.
I made the mistake of actually buying a mac and it was the most regrettable decision I ever made. Not only are mac laptops themselves dogshit in general but you literally have to bootcamp windows on them to get basic usability.
I recommend windows 7.

Lets say you're deployed in an invasion of a country, Nepal for instance.
How would you go about setting up a network that all bases around the occupied territory could access, what kind of security, etc
I'd just use radio number stations or OTP encryption messaging.
Store all information outside of the country.
Give each base three servers with hardware authentication. The hardware is signed and only those three machines can connect with home base.
Those three authentication servers are meant to authenticate individual laptops on the base with revocable access. If a laptop is not connected to the local authentication server it loses all access.
The laptops only have an operating system. Read only.

sorry to hear
OP is right
It's fucking unacceptable.
Nowadays ram is cheap as fuck
There's absolutely no reason to have less than 8gb

is it still worth learning c++?
why?
Learn HolyC
>>60180410
i will admit embedding flowchart diagrams directly into the code is a nice touch
>>60180334
No, learn Rust.
C++ is a dead language, hasn't been updated in years and only old white men use it.

How do I know if a Windows ISO contains any malicious software added by whoever created the torrent?
We don't know what the SHA512 sum of a retail disc is. There are good OEM keys available for like 5 bucks so you don't need any sort of license activation garbage programs.
It's hard to even tell these days if what you're downloading is a genuine scene release.
RIP ETH0
>>60179836
get it directly from Microsoft?
>>60179852
he doesn't want any malicious software you nigga
I have a friend in India who works for Microsoft
He called me the other day and helped me install the windows activation program. What a gentleman.
He even helped me enable an LED light effect with my laptop. There's a white LED light just next to the webcam. After he configured the lightshow, it glows every second. It's beautiful now.
/g/entoomen,
My new job requires lots of Linux fuckery.
What's a good way to learn all the basic commands like a pro?
How did you get the job? Did you lie about having the required knowledge? Consider yourself fired.

Have a need for those commands and use them.
