im installing a new loonix /g/
is arch for niggers? why shouldnt I go back to it
>inb4 install gentoo
kill yourself
Arch is based
It's basically Gentoo without all the bullshit
>why shouldnt I go back to it
Why shouldn't you? Arch is the best.
arch is for tryhards
install Ubuntu or Fedora or Debian.
>inb4 the packages are old
Name a single package you genuinely need a newer version of, and explain to me why you don't just install a newer version of it manually.
>wanting to buy a good motherboard for good price
>can only find gamer motherboards
>only regular motherboards I can find are for servers
Help, what am I doing wrong?
What you are doing wrong is caring about the marketing. A motherboard is a motherboard.
>"dude I can't get a gaming motherboard I am not a gaymer haha fuck /v/ amirite? pls let me fit in!"
dumbass
just get a motherboard that has the inputs/connections you need for the other parts you buy.

Dude, you're getting a Dell.
With all the new convertible laptops that have come out over the past few years why have so few of them had this hinge design? Isn't is functionally superior in every way? It's only weakness is that it requires slightly more room than the other options.
The 360 hinge seems to be the dominant form factor which is super awkward to switch between modes with and leaves the keyboard exposed. Then there's the Surface Book design which is just as bad when switching between modes and only slightly better in that it doesn't leave the keyboard exposed.
Honorable mention to Dell's XPS 12 convertible frame design, that was a pretty good design but they seemed to have abandoned it.
Because it's fragile as fuck. One unintended drop or too much force in the the wrong direction by just a few degrees and you are fucked.
>>60905623
If that's the case dell needs to bring back this design and everybody needs to copy it. I'm sick of the 360 hinge bullshit with the exposed keyboard and the awkward switching.

I want to make my own power bank, WiFi drive with NFC functions and maybe speakers.
Is this possible? What engineering issues would I face?
>>60742047
so...
you *beep your NFC card to the device you want to make... then, depending on NFC code, certain wifi functions happen? all self powered too?
I bought a godaddy domain name and was instantly flooded with calls and texts so I registered for the donotcall.gov list and it worked for me. However, I work for a delivery service that uses a system that is now being blocked by this as well. They can't send me text messages with orders. I can't find a way to get my number off the list or at least allow my job to send me texts. Any help?
>>60741500
thats what you get for going with godaddy
they're among the worst of the worst registrars and you should feel bad for supporting them
ikr? fuckfuckfuck

The government do not call list is more of a suggestion in the same way a speed limit sign is a suggestion.
Its up to the individual company whether or not they want to honor that list or risk the repercussions (if any).
When I was on the list, I would still get calls from time to time. They would lie about their system calling me, tell me shit like I need to tell my senator to make them not call me anymore, and I asked for their number and the guy game me a random 1800 number that happened to be a sex hotline, and with me being underage at the time I called right back, got a manager, and explained to him that one of his employees just directed an underage child to a sex hotline.
He told me the guy got sent home. Probably more bullshit but one can hope.
So in other words, your company is a bunch of goofs and you need to tell them to add you to the exception list or edit their copy of the do not call list and remove your number from it. There is some work around they could do.

My hard drive got inexplicably got overwritten with a DOS boot disk, and I had to take it out and do diagnostics. I've had this HDD for 4 years. I've already backed up and now just waiting for the inevitable.
It'll get worse over time so you shouldn't rely on it anymore. Also, >>60902917

You should probably backup immediately to prevent data loss.

Holy fuck, RIP anon's HDD.
Is there a way to force programs to open on a specific monitor using a specific GPU?
I have two graphics cards with one monitor connected to each. What I want basically is to make GPU2 which has monitor2 attached to it, to run all my basic shit, like web browsing, so when I open Chrome I want it to use GPU2 and be on monitor2. But as it currently is, no matter what I do, all programs use the GPU1, which has monitor1 (primary) connected to it, even if I move the window over to monitor2, it still keeps using the resources of GPU1. Even if I open a game in windowed mode, then move it to monitor2, it is still using GPU1 to render it.
I always thought that if a program window is being displayed on a screen, it will always use the GPU to which that screen is connected to.
Is it possible somehow to achieve what I want? Obviously, I could go ahead and keep using "make this display my primary" setting in windows to force it, but that is very inconvenient.
I am using Windows 10. Graphics cards are 1080Ti and 1060.
Thanks for any input.
>>60741164
Pretty sure you can select what Program uses what GPU in the nvidia panel.
>>60741197
Nah, you can't. That's only available on systems with Optimus, which use an intel IGP and a discrete nvidia GPU. Only thing I can pick is which card to use for CUDA on specific programs, but even after forcing Chrome to use my 1060 for CUDA, it still runs on the 1080Ti, because it is not a CUDA program anyways.

Hi /g(ay)/
i have a problem
i can't find fucking rx470 (any rx without 460) in any good online shop in my country soo...
I want to buy 1050TI in more expensive edition but when i check benchmarks then I find only some shitty benchmark from release day (or b4).
So tell me ony1 who have this gpu, is it good? I hope that Niggavidia made it better through updates
