KDE is kind of good except for KWallet.
What do? Do I go back to GNOME?
Kaos OS.
>>60770661
>except for KWallet
Install kwalletmanager just to disable that shit, you can remove it afterwards and it won't ever annoy you again. Also, try Neon or Arch.
>>60770661
KWallet is pretty useful when you use it well and what you use has proper integration for it.
Go for Debian Testing or KDE Neon if you like Debian-based distros, go for Fedora's KDE spin if you like RPM distros, which you probably don't if you didn't like opensuse.
Just bought an ISA One and there seems to be a lot of hissing / background noise when I run my microphone (SM7B) through it. What do?

What's the best sub $200 CPU?
I live by a Microcenter so they're an option.
Is there a Ryzen CPU in this price range?
What's the difference between the Ryzen 5 1600 and 1600x?
Better than a 7600k for emulation?
>>60770276
Ryzen isn't that great for Cemu but it's better at PS3 emulation and ok at everything else.
>>60770240
The 1600 is $220 on Newegg so it should be $200 at Microcenter if they're having a sale. 1600 comes with a cooler and can be OCed to 1600X levels if you win the silicon lottery.

Okay I think I get why people make fun of Apple lovers now
>>60769695
Yep, apple lovers cover insecure about tech, just repeat as parrot things apple say and add but apple is superior.
>>60770229
pretty much, they rarely even try to be objective about it.
Sup /v/ got the G400s here. I love the LUA scripting feature, but it is inconsistent. Like sometimes I hit the button and it rolls my script out, other times it just registers a normal mouse-click. Anyone had and resolved this issue before?
I am thinking about getting a new mouse because of this, I wanna stick with Logitech though. Are the newer models any good?
Whats the best wired Logitech with on-board memory? I am thinking it has trouble playing the scripts consistently due to running them through software.
What mice do you all have/recommend?

CPUs:
>G4560 - budget builds (<$500) unless G4600/G4620/i3-7100 is heavily discounted
>R5 1500x - generally all you need for 60fps with power to spare. No i5
>R5 1600 - best value for higher fps gaming & mixed usage; 1600x if you too lazy to OC
>i7-7700k - bad value but good for higher FPS; may have heat issues
>R7/Xeon/Threadripper/i9 - compute/Multitask/mixed use
Graphics:
>G4560 iGPU is fine for desktop stuff and very light game
>1050Ti for low budget. Drop settings if not Freesync/Gsync on newer games; RX560 if discounted <$90
>RX570 4GB - 1080p@60+hz, running most maxed; older games at 144+hz
>RX580 8GB - 1440p@60+hz, inject SMAA & drop settings
>1060 - Generally outperformed by the RX 580 and GSync costs more; consider if AMD is not an option (ie CUDA/miners buying all RX400/500s)
>1070 - if on sale/can't afford 1080
>1080 - 1080p@100-144+hz maxed; 1440p at lower hz.
>1080Ti - 1440p@90-144+hz; 4k@60hz in SOME games, more at lower settings
General:
>READ PRODUCT REVIEWS to see if that cheap SSD/PSU or whatever is reliable
>Consider larger SSD-only for what you budget SSD+HDD combined. Add HDD later once needed
>NVMe aren't for faster OS boot. They're primarily for productivity/scratch disk/VMs
>Stop confusing any M.2 drive with NVMe. M.2 is a form factor
>mATX board + case is often cheaper
>1 SR DIMM is slower than 2 DIMMs
First for 7700k is better than the 1700x and only shills think otherwise.

Go with a Micro ATX Motherboard unless you need the additional PCI-E lanes and accessories that an ATX motherboard has.
Plan on overclocking? Get an aftermarket CPU Cooler.
Go with a Micro ATX Case if you chose a Micro ATX Motherboard. Go with an ATX Case if you chose an ATX Case.
Get a minimum Bronze Certified PSU. Get a modular PSU if you have a windowed Case and/or the Case has poor airflow.
