My hard drive got inexplicably got overwritten with a DOS boot disk, and I had to take it out and do diagnostics. I've had this HDD for 4 years. I've already backed up and now just waiting for the inevitable.

I've had many, many more than that. I used that disk as a scratch disk right up until I couldn't stand to hear the loud clicking noises it made.
