Daily reminder that Apple is SUPERIOR.
While android/windows offer "bang for your buck", "value for money" and a bare bones operating system, Apple offers PREMIUM PRODUCTS.
Do yourself a favour. Go into an Apple Store and look for an iMac. Notice the crisp, aesthetic display. Notice how it looks more visually appealing than any windows device you've ever had.
That is the superiority of Apple.

>And then use it, and then notice how you return it
But reminders are Apples job in the IT industry in general. So that does mean that you're a shill and need to fuck off.
PS: take the thinkbad and goylitech shills with you
fuck google

report this shit
>University gives me a MacBook pro in free use.
>It's the model with the touch bar
>Try installing arch linux
>The audio doesn't work
>Bring my t430 at university
>Professors tease me for not using the Mac the school gave me.
>My classmates see me has a wannabe hackerman for using a tiling window manager.
Is there any way to get out this hell that doesn't include using a mac without audio or using OS X?
>>61590648
yeah, stop letting the shallow, fickle opinions of others dictate your happiness.
you only get one life, are you going to spend it being comfy, or setting yourself on fire to keep people who make fun of you warm
>>61590745
This. Stop being an insecure faggot OP. It will do wonders to your life.

B-but I care about what my professors think of me.
what's your favorite /comfy/ distro, /g/?
>>61590562
What's your experience with Solus? Need a new distro and I'm considering it along with Manjaro and Debian
>>61590562
Xubuntu
Is it "just werks" like Ubuntu or is it a pain in the ass to set up printers like Arch?
Can anyone express a logical reason to dislike Hacker News without mentioning or scapegoating "the Jews"?
>>61590130
the Jews
>>61590130
the whole thing just feels "reddit-y" to me. It's probably the layout.
I really only go there (HN, I don't goto reddit) to find some interesting news article. Comments are even more autismal than /g/ if you can believe that
>>61590130
there used to be a lot of good discussion on there, the format of the site itself is still perfect. the content has gone into 'culture wars' territory too many times it's just getting old. I want a place away from all that shit.
When will 4chan support VP9 videos? :(
Why though?
>>61590123
Edge only supports VP9.
>>61590151
What's that?
what media player does /g/ use?
>>61589881

Does this actually apply to anyone on /g/? Have normal fags invaded?
Fuck that's me
So my company is basically giving me a blank check for me to buy a personal laptop for me to buy for CUDA calculations and travel. I am wondering if the upgrade from i5-7200u to i7-7500u is worth it? Oh and recommend a laptop with a generic gpu. I was leaning towards the new xiaomi fingerprint models since notebookcheck gave it a 85%.
>blank check
you'd be daft to not buy a maxed out Surface Book
>>61589736
>I am wondering if the upgrade from i5-7200u to i7-7500u is worth it?
If your task is bottlenecked on number of CUDA cores then it'll make no difference.
>>61589853
>If your task is bottlenecked on number of CUDA cores then it'll make no difference.
Well the the cpu change is for just plain performance. all my cuda will be done on the gpu so I will not have a problem. I am wondering if the performance boast from i5 to i7 is worth the money atm.
Old thread: >>61585395
What are you working on, /g/?

If you have scrolled by this post, you have been visited by kevinnet.
Chinese hackers stealing credit card info will come to you, but only if you reply to this post with "THANK YOU KEVINNET!".
Oh my.
Millennials will block ads and still feel entitled for more and more free shit online. They generate no actual value and just increase companies' expenses, including with the tech support time wasted correcting their lah-lah-land socialist fantasies.
I don't expect to see any "free" sites like 4chan and Youtube anymore in 5 years.
>>61588951
The only sites that can go premium are sites with services that the majority of people will pay for, there are almost no cases of this right now where the payment isn't just paying for access to copyrighted material (like music, books etc).
Running a website isn't very expensive.
>I don't expect to see any "free" sites like 4chan and Youtube anymore in 5 years.
You're retarded.
>>61588951
I don't see sites which rely mostly on user generated content ever becoming paywalled like that. See: 4chan pass and YouTube Red.
kek, RSS reader. What is this, 2005?
Why is Discord constantly generating 0.1 mbps network activity? Is it slowly sending all my data to the botnet?
>>61588874
probably the new screensharing feature ;)
>>61589326
Oh yeah, this, discord now has a feature where someone can watch you live on your computer. It only requires that you have discord runing in background.
feature is on by default
Just nasa doing its thing.
