Him, Greg, and Peridot are the only characters I like. Steven was annoying initially, but in a show that loves to keep personalities stagnant, he's had a lot of growth. His decisions make sense, and his approach to problems seem to evolve.

Befcause making him the villain of a particular event would go against Morrison's idea of what the empty hand is. He's a consequence of the never ending story: As new events and cosmic stories come, the villains keep getting bigger and bigger. The empty hand is the villain at the end of the infinite story, once he comes it's all over. At best he can be postponed, but as long as there is a hand turning the pages, the empty hand will be at the end.

That's exactly why it's a product of the era. Kirby was progressive, believed women were just as heroic as men, and drew his female characters with equal (and sometimes greater) participation compared to their male counterparts.

Stan, the businessman, was concerned about the bottom line. And in Stan's eyes having the lady save the day in the 60s was bad for business. Of course he changed his tune in the 70s when he realized he could make a buck off feminist characters.

I don't mean for this to turn into rampant Stan-bashing, the guy's business smarts are half the reason why Marvel became so successful. Kirby's genius is of course the other half and unfortunately their personalities proved to mix like oil and vinegar. But them's the breaks.

It is for a sociopath.

I don't watch the show regularly (no pun intended), but I gotta ask, why is Princess Bubblegum such a bitch to Finn and why is there such a huge lesbo tone between her and Marceline?

Part of me wonders if he's trying to avoid going full Bat-God as some writers are wont to do. That's why you get stuff like Bruce sacrificing himself to save a plane or unbreaking (?) his back, but then he jobs.
To be fair, he and his squad managed to out-keikaku Bane.

I've only ever read Morrison's various Batman stories, and Frank Miller's shitty Dark Knight books.

From the complaints and pictures posted here, I really want to start buying this book. I love that King is out right rejecting Bat-God.

Batman is just some split personality trust fund baby who never went to much needed therapy, and decided he wanted to dress up in a bat fetish suit to beat people up, while claiming he was "serving justice."
