I have never eaten curry but I would like to try it out. I have seen a lot of recipes but since I have no basic knowledge of what it tastes like I don't know which one to make.
Do you guys have any recipes for a basic can't-go-wrong curry? Also my parents are gonna eat it too and my dad is a customed to the wonderful world of Dutch cuisine (read, salt and pepper are the only spices he knows) so nothing extremely hot.
I have a food processor and lots of herbs.

For indian style curries, butter chicken is friendly.
This one is easy to make

I have the following spices on hand: curry powder, turmeric, corriander, ginger
I mix and match them variously depending on what I feel like
cant go wrong with those spices.

I'm not sure what would go good on a condiment or why you'd want to serve a condiment on another condiment...
But I'd say that sauce goes well on shrimp and steak and likely other meats like pork and chicken.
> Ketchup and Mustard
Ketchup with the fries/tots, mustard on the burger/dog
They CAN coexist
The onions thing was kinda funny but everyone knows catsup and masterd go well together on cheeseburgers

Hello, Simon Shit-Post.
What's for breakfast, /ck/?
Papaya strawberry banana smoothie. I'd post a pic, but I drank it.
>>7051450
Oatmeal with banana and shredded coconut
>>7051450
Plain yogurt with blueberries and strawberries.
Home made bread with hazlenut spread and grapes.
Banana.
Cup o' tea.
Do you put jam in the fridge?
When I've made it and need it to set, yes.
Once opened, yes.
>>7051422
What's going on with that pic?
>>7051422
No. Jam is a PRESERVE. Why would it require refrigeration?
Thanks Martha.
>no honey

Holy shit, she has the worst recipes. I tried her mint jelly once and the shit sucked. I honestly think her staff just uses a random ingredient and measurement generator.
i would fuck martha stewart
Tastes bitter, anyone have any idea what I've got here? Thanks
Looks like unripe grapefruit to me.

What's your favorite tortilla chip?
When do you use flour tortillas?
When do you use corn tortillas?
also what's the deal with these? They're made by Frito Lay, but cheaper. Do they make it from the shitty diseased corn? Or do they just grind it coarser?
Best tortilla chip coming through
>>7051340
thise are made from nixtamlized starchy white corn, which is hominy . It is fine, it is cheaper because it is easier to make than Fritos.
>>7051546
I concur.
Ate lunch in a bar/grille/club for lunch yesterday. Bill was $8.34. Give the waitress a $20 and she brings me $12 dollars in change. Where's my 66 cents?
We do give change. We round up or down and we only have quarters for the games.
WTF? Anybody ever encounter this? She brought me 2 quarters.
>>7051325
You're joking, right? RIGHT?
>>7051328
No, I;m not. Eaten there many times and the waitress, who I know a bit said that I probably paid with credit before and didn't notice.
Something illegal? Should I give the owner a call?

What's your opinion on congee, /ck/ and what do you add.
I like mine with broth and herbs and use left over meat
I like plain with pickles.
>>7051201
Great on cold days.
Pig feet broth or chicken
Half and half long grain rice and glutinous rice
salt
ground pepper
fish souce
soy souce
turmeric slivers
topped with pan seared chicken, fried or roast pork, fried garlic, green onion and/or leek, cracklings and boiled egg
Century eggs and chicken, fish, or squid. The meat honestly is the less important option.
I plan on making some chocolate truffles as a cheaper Christmas present for a few people and I was wondering if any of you knew flavours that work well in them.
I was thinking of doing some tea truffles but I'm not as sure if the flavour will come through well enough.
Can be dark, milk or white chocolate.
Chocolate thread in general as well I guess.
Truffles are fairly forgiving, since you end up rolling them in some coating. So the temper is less finicky.
Shiny chocolate bonbons like those in your OP are a PITA. I have recipes for both if you want them however.
I did some red velvet and dark chocolate truffles a while ago, and the flavors were able to work well with each other. As long as you make them pretty and not like little turd balls they're a great gift
>>7051211
I'm fine on how to make truffles, I've made both kinds (coated in chocolate and not) before but they were both just plain ones; thank you for the offer however. the advise im looking for is flavours to go in.
>>7051283
what made them red velvet? did they have actual cake inside or did you just colour the core?
Daily reminder: if you put crackers and cheese in with chili you're a fucking man-child who should stick to chicken tenders and ketchup.
That is all, you may continue.
>>7051118
Never heard of people putting crackers in their chili. Is that a thing?
Tortilla chips are fine, though. Top with a slice of jalapeƱo.
Can someone explain how chili and cornbread mix
my cornbread is always so crumbly it breaks whenever I try to scoop my chili with it.
