Most wine producing countries are *capable* of making good wine, but certain countries choose to make their everyday wines terrible. Australia and NZ are a prime example, Argentina and Chile are also somewhat guilty of this though not as bad as the shitpost kings.

Honestly the best cheap wine comes from Europe, particularly the less famous parts of France, Italy, and Portugal. America makes good cheap wine too, from the Central Coast of CA and the Finger Lakes in NY.
