Rib-eye or sirloin?
I like sirloin. Lean, flavourful, good texture if cooked correctly. Ribeye is great too but I don't like the texture contrasts between the fatty bits, sirloin is pretty uniform.

How to season a steak beyond salt and pepper?
More salt and pepper
>>7655460
I believe most people think that the point of steak is the flavor of the meat itself and not any seasonings
try a pat of butter
This is the be-all and end-all
What does /ck/ think of my delicious meal abomination? Lo Mein noodles with garlic sauteed shrimp water chestnuts and baby corn in a pad thai sauce

Hello cu/ck/s I have $20 to cook a meal tonight for me and one other person. I've got access to stores that have the usual stuff. Keep in mind that I'm still a novice.
Any suggestions?
Why don't you try and make a fricasee and top it with a french trim pan roasted chicken breast
Cacio e pepe
make a bowl of eggs
>craving a Philly cheese steak
>All the good Italian restaurants and pizza shops closed on Monday
How is dominos Philly? Subway is out of the question so don't suggest that.
Don't even consider purchasing anything from Domino's, have some goddamned self-respect for fuck sakes.

The pizza isn't great but at least it's better than the other chains. Normally I'd go to the pizzarias but they aren't open Monday.
I had one yesterday. It was good.
does anybody know how to make it?
I need your help please
You need cream.

I took some frozen chicken breasts, seasoned them, put them in a roasting pan and baked them at 375 for like 1 hour and 30 min. Cooked some rice in the oddest way I have ever seen, you soak the rice for 25 min, I did 2 cups so I boiled 4 cups of water, put the rice in and cooked for 12 minutes. Served it up. Ez.
Are there any garden/urban agriculturalists or beekeepers on /ck/? If you have a nice garden, why not grow your own food?
Once I buy a house I think I'm going to start growing tomatoes, maybe I'll take courses in beekeeping too
>>7655109
You don't need a house for tomatoes. Simply buy a determinate type (ones that have a fixed growth rate) instead of indeterminate (ones that grow uncontrollably). I'm in an apartment myself and turned my Roma tomatoes, which is a determinate type, into an upside down hanging plant which hangs off my balcony.
There's a lot you can do in a small place, you just need to go vertical instead of horizontal with your growing.
I have a half finished hydrophonic hanging garden that will probably never be finished.
Find me a better dish than roasted duck with mole

On this sandwich, we have: kielbasa, pierogi, onions, and cheese.
that's so much starch. it needs some kind of dipping sauce.
Yes, OP. I, too, have been to Fat Head's.

>that's so much starch
This.
What's even the point of putting pierogis between two thick slices of bread, only to have them smashed into oblivion when you try to eat it? The bread looks like improperly proofed garbage to begin with.
What do you guys think of Action Bronson?
>>7654962
fuck off viral fag
Love his music and like catching up on the lyrics about food especially cause I'm middle eastern and he always mentioning that shit. Makes him mad relatable. But when it comes to cooking I don't really fuck with idolizing chefs I'm more into trying my own thing and creating my own style by fusing together multiple things I learn from different chefs and articles.
I want to see him go into one of those industrial engine block shredders
I recently misidentified some wood I had in my back yard. I thought it was an old peach tree I chopped down, and I used it to smoke some pork for bbq.
After eating the pork, my tongue went numb, my heart started racing, my chest tightened, I had tons of energy, and I had a hard time breathing. The same happened with my wife. She threw up her dinner and felt better. I couldn't make myself throw up and had this shitty sensation for about 2 hours. I had to throw out 5 lbs of meat and 5 green chiles I smoked.
What have you fucked up on lately?
>>7654696
sounds like nicotine or something O_O
>>7654696
Was it pine wood perhaps? Pine can be quite nasty when it burns.
>>7654710
Definitely not nicotine. I smoke, and it was nothing like smoking. I thought i was going to make a trip to the hospital. I'm thinking it fucked up electrolyte levels. I took an aspirin as a preventative measure.
I was craving some sweets and caved. I ended up making this sweet mess.
Chocolate chip, butter scotch chip, rainbow chip, m&ms, and Lindt chocolate chunks.
Looks good/bad/meh how can it be better

My grandfather has this food truck that he wants to give me. It's got a soft serve icecream machine, a slurpee machine, a pizza oven, espresso and a flat top.
The catch is that we have to pay him out over the next few years. We live in a small town that has a crazy amount of tourists during the summer time. Mostly campers, but some high rollers who like to stay in B&B's or cabins.
There's a big music festival coming to town this year and we're thinking of working it to test the waters.
Does anyone have experience running a food truck? Any major traps to be aware of?
I really have no idea how to do this, but my husband ran a similar set up for a year when he was a teenager.
Also food truck general I guess?
What a nice grandpa.
Sounds like a good thing. I wish I had a food truck
That's fucking awesome
