If I wanted to start selling clothes on bigcartel or etsy with pictures of cartoon characters on them, would I get into trouble for copyright infringement? The reason I ask is because I see a lot of people doing it with relatively small clothing lines (some of the people I know personally) and the only reason I've never done it myself is because of copyright infringement.
I'd hope to make this a side business run from home that brings me in some extra pocket money.

If said business is located in China, you're free to go.

It's considered unlicensed merchandise. Etsy will take it down if you get caught. I believe the odds of being caught are quite small, especially if it's small time stuff.
If you're selling shirts with actual artwork done by official artists, then yes. However, if you're making your own unique graphic designs and not featuring trademarks then you'll be fine. There are more than a few artists out their selling their own shit based on known characters. Just be aware that if a company owning the IP DOES have a problem with it they can ask you to stop at any time. Disney in particular has been known to be especially ruthless in this regard.
So if you're high in the food chain next to salary you often get offered share options. How could one value these options?
If lets say, you get 24 million of share options, what does that say? How much would that actually be worth?
I think it would depend on what the exercise price is vs share price. So if you have an option to purchase 1,000 shares at $10 a share the value is $10,000. However if the stock price is $15 a share the value is $15,000.
market capitalisation senpai
depends on the option you nitwit

How do gift cards work? When you buy an Amazon gift card and then use the funds off it to buy an item on Amazon how does the seller get the money? Is it just the same as paying them through a debit/credit card, or is there something different when a purchase is made using a gift card? Same with something like Steam or Ebay.
Amazon would take in money from the person who bought the gift card and then distribute that money when the gift card is used I'd assume.
From the business side, it's an unearned revenue. IE a liability. And when the person uses the gift card, they transfer the money they originally received to the seller of the product and thus the liability is gone.
It probably gets a bit more complicated than that considering Amazon fees and what not, but that's the basics of it.
Holy fuck this board is full of retards

Grant Cardone Net Worth - $350 million
He writes his goals down and reads them out loud twice daily. He's done that for over 30 years!
Warren Buffett Net Worth $66.7 billion
He read the entire Omaha Library finance section at the age of ten
He currently reads over 500 pages a day of various books, annual reports and newspapers.

Grant Cardone isn't worth $350mm
Goldbugs BTFO
Legos increase in value at a higher rate

That doesn't sound bad to me.
Everyone is talking about buying some stocks with small amounts of money and keeping them for 5 to 10 years. Would that be a reasonable thing to do for a college student?
I mean, I can save like 1k per year at best for this. How much can it being in a short time like 5 years, 10 years? Should one do it whith such a small amount of money?
>>1014552
you cant , wait until you have a steady income or there's really not much of a point, you won't make much of a return and your funds are safer in a savings account.
It's not worth doing. Keep your powder dry until you have 10-20k and make a good investment in the stock market or a small business or real estate. Investing with a thousand dollars means you're going to spend A significant amount of time just trying to cover your trading fees.
who the fuck is everyone
everyone is dumb
How do you deal with the HR that stands in your way of getting a job? I heard they even help people they like to advance?
>>1014522
Depends on if they're assholes or not.
In general, though, with politeness and knowing how to play the game.
Researching the company helps, because if nothing else, you might know what really triggers their HR department if you dig enough.
>>1014522
HR serves the company, in the unlikely event they are a bad egg just go over their head
>>1014533
Someone working from the outside would have more trouble with that solution than someone seeking a promotion, I'd note.
But not a bad idea, at least.
Anyone know how much of a leap is it to move from regular stock trading to binary options trading?
And any recommendations on the following companies or a reliable place for an american:
>Nadex - the one i'm really looking at
>CTOptions
>Porter finance
I'll take any tips
neither of those companies are reputable or reliable. trading retail binary options is one of the worst things to do with your money, because of how much you will get ripped off on the pricing of the options.
>>1014525
Thanks, that's was how it was looking to me too...
I guess it was too good to be true.
>>1014536
no problem. ive worked in the trading industry for a while, and products/services aimed almost exclusively at retail is almost always bad. now theyre not usually straight up scams but often have extra fees, either visible like for example very high commissions, or more hidden like a binary option priced extremely unfairly against the customer, because the customer doesnt know how to price options. this is especially common in binary option, forex and CFD/spread betting products. thats another reason why its so hard for retail traders to make money, even if you are "good enough" you can still be a net loser because of all the extra fees and crap you have to deal with.

Do you need a college degree to get a decent job in IT or do certifications suffice?
Any IT stories to share? It seems like a decent job.

The flood of people with related degrees increases the odds that you'll need both instead of just one or the other.

that pictures stupid because its the market that runs the government
Is creating a for-profit charity feasible?
Wouldn't all you need be a personal sob story, and a pretty small starting budget?
Hell, you can get people to work for free, and pretty much any school will happily let your have a presentation about the charity, and youngsters wanting to make a difference will be more than happy to present, organize and collect funds for free.
I think every so called charity that goes beyond serving soup to the local drug addicts is a stealth for-profit. Its literally an industry.
costs a lot to start one and get tax exempt staus

this. if you are in the us, it might be more interesting to start any kind of religion-related business. because you start off with a very available and receptive, low iq, potential clientele.
Anybody else read this? I'm about 150 pages in, and I have to say that I'm digging it. There's some outdated advice and attitudes in this book, but there's also a lot interesting advice in here too. What I found most interesting, is that he does not drink at all. He goes to bars with people who drink in order to make connections, but he stays sober while everybody else gets drunk.
Any others read this book?
It's a book of anecdotes, but Trump is very effective at simplifying his process for the average American reader. Although it is impossible to relate to the extravagant deals this man has made, it is worth noting that he doesn't dislike company at the top. He basically says that if you were meant to do it, you would do it and you would realize your potential and not squander it.
"Think big. If you're going to be thinking anyway, you might as well think big."
