WHY DID YOU TELL ME TO BUY GULDEN, /biz/????!??!?!
IT HAS FALLEN SO MUCH IN VALUE
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY
>>1015583
he he another one of those fake money scams.
Did you actually really fall for these scams?
>>1015583
Nobody told you to buy gulden.
Every one of those shill threads was full of people attacking the OP. Do you even read?
So. I want to transfer money internationally to a friend in Southeast Asia. My problem is most services require last names and/or banking information, where I'd prefer to keep my information anonymous (nothing illegal, we just value privacy).
I've read of people using m-payments to send money which is then collected via prepaid debit card, but I can't determine which services (cards and payment) would work and not need too much of our information
So if any of you fine fellows know, I would appreciate it
>>1015522
Go ask wherever you read about it. How is this business related?
>>1015536
Gee anon, it's like finance and currency are in the title/description.
Thanks though
Someone in another thread mentioned to read the /biz/ recommended books.
What are they?

I'm about to start investing, no education, just some basic knowledge. It's more of a hobby not a need. What are your average annual net returns?

When will the oil prices go up?
>>1015394
Oil prices will either
A) Go up
B) Hold steady
C) Go down
Therefore oil prices will go up when they do not hold steady or go down.
I've read up a good amount on the subject and most firms are projecting that oil will be at $60 per barrel by the end of 2016. I just don't see supply dropping enough to justify that. Most of the firms projecting $60 claim that at some point US and OPEC will begin to build up their reserves and wait for higher prices. I just don't see it. With Iran gradually entering the oil supply market and reliance on oil in developed countries decreasing every year, I think we may have reached a new norm of oil prices. Especially with how much developing markets are expected to struggle in 2016. I also believe that oil companies are aware of this which is why they have not yet chosen to decrease supply. There is likely to be a slight increase due to the pure anticipation of price increases, but I project no more than $45 per barrel at this time next year.
When demand increases or supply decreases.
I'm a newb and have been lurking for a few months. Could anyone explain what a volume burst is in very simple terms?
>>1015391
Cmon guys
Pls
Pls!
Please!

Please Respond!
No one is responding because I'm not sure that a "Volume burst" exists. I've never heard of it and have been in Finance/Investing 10+ years.
If it is a thing that I have never heard of I would guess that it's when something is being sold in high volume, then all of a sudden the demand for it drops meaning that the volume suddenly decreases.
Not sure though, if it's not searchable on the internet it's probably not a thing though.
Hey /biz/,
I'm currently a junior and going to be working this summer at a middle market private equity firm. Since it seems like a lot of people on the board are high school/younger college-age, I figured I'd do an ama about the finance recruiting process for anyone that is aiming to break into finance. It's tough going if you don't have someone to tell you what you're getting into.
If there's anyone else here who's also in PE, I'd appreciate any advice you could give me.
>>1015370
Mexican here, is it really easier for minorities to get into high finance?
Also what are your stats? Uni, GPA, etc.
What college do to? Will I still have a chance to get in if I go to a non target such as Oregon or Oregon State?
>>1015370
Unless you're attending a target school, with a major discipline of study that is business-finance oriented with multiple minor disciplines of study in the fields of economics, accounting, physics, mathematics, and bit of psychology and you're actually keeping a GPA above 3.5 then you're wasting your time. Also, being on a sports team helps (sponsored by the school or recreational it doesn't matter), being the president of clubs helps, and having family/close friends already in the industry is a must. If you have all of that, there's about a 35%-50% chance you'll find a PE job after working for 1-5 years within the finance industry. Good luck, keep your head down and remember to speak your mind but only if you know your'e right.

Hello /biz/
When I was younger and more stupid I thought it'd be a good idea to study literature because it was "what I loved doing". Now I'm 25 and on a dead end job, but I have the opportunity to go back to school and study something worthwhile. My question is, considering I have already wasted 7 years of my life, what would be a good career to persue where my age would be less of a problem?
Computer Science

>>1015332
Philosophy.
>>1015333
Can confirm we have some older dudes running through my uni's CS undergrad program. Even though I'm still just an undergrad from what I can tell it seems to be a stable career where you can make a decent salary
Anybody here run a business cutting grass? I'm talking full time, not cutting your neighbor's yard when you were a kid. I'm planning on starting this spring. I have $10K in the bank.
I need DOs and DONTs, especially dealing with how to get CLIENTs
Thanks buddies
I would keep your eye out for used equipment on Craigslist like a trailer, commercial mower etc. starting out, your only means of marketing is going to be word of mouth so be good to what initial clients you get and maybe make a small lawn sign and see if you can put it somewhere in their yards. Also put a sign on your vehicle. Then advertise in a small local newspaper or coupon distribution paper and work your way towards commercial clients.
>>1015293
Mow yards for free to start, once they get hooked then start charging. I would find shaggy yards and just go to work. They will appreciate your can do attitude and offer you sweet tea and then you have a customer for life
>>1015306
No. The people with shaggy yards don't care about having a shaggy yard, or they would already have taken care of it. They are not going to pay someone to take care of it.
OP needs to go into rich neighbourhoods and find well maintained yards and then mention how much they can save if they let him do it
If someone has a well maintained yard they are obviously his target market. Shaggy yards are not.
Sup /biz/, i am new here, and aside degree threads i think this board can be a lot usefull especialy for business owners/entrepreneurs.
So i will start a valuation study of a company that i want to create, using the book in the pic as a guide, i think i will post the progress here in this thread so more people can evaluate and discuss valuation related issues. But first, for business or economics people here, some one know this book? any suggestion?
http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~adamodar/
Should I buy a trailer or rent an apartment? Can buy a trailer for ~$5K and lot rent is $300/month here. The cheapest apartments around are $950/month unless I turn into a nigger and get on section 8.
>>1015175
If you plan on staying for more than two years then go for it. Otherwise I would keep my options open. You never know when you might wanna leave.
>>1015175
Well the math speaks for itself, you're saving about 600 per month doing the trailer route, so after 10 months you are coming out ahead. Plus you can probably resell the trailer later
My mom has an ebay account with about 800 items sold at 100% profitable feedback. What's the easiest thing to source profitably? For now my budget for inventory is $500.
She sells items that net profits of usually the 5-25 dollar range. Clothes, books, dvds, board games, garage store trash. The flipping community is pretty secretive and full of scammers shilling e-books who claim huge profits from freight auctions and stuff like that. Where should I be focused when it comes to inventory and sourcing? I already have a great setup for shipping.
Ask your money you dumb NEET faggot
>>1015164
Buy a Gaylord full of crap from a wholesaler. Sell off the good stuff, donate crap stuff to charity. Rinse, lather and repeat.
What you buy doesn't really matter. You are dealing in commodities OP. You just have to be able to drive volume.
