Redpill me on "Sales Departments" /biz/.
Specifically at large Fortune 500 corporations.
-What are the people like?
-What are the other department's perceptions of the Sales department?
-Is the job legit or a meme job like public relations?

Good book BTW, LTCM was fascinating.
6 months into my position at Citigroup, feeling the need for a little direction
>Legal entity controller team
>Level 2 staff (2,3,asst vp, senior vp, then into mid and upper management)
>Basically help oversee accounting for North American legal entities, with a focus on CGMI (largest) and CSSI (small-to-medium)
>like the job. people are ok
>pay is pretty shite. sub-45 shite. andi've heard some level 3s say the raises are a joke
Should I stay or should I go?
Sister in law is in very good standing at Wells Fargo, can probably get in there somewhat easily
FWIW, I (almost) have an MBA and i have 1 year public audit
>>1266479
Are you me? I just left Citi, same thing with sub-45 pay, and the 3's were also paid absolute dogshit. I loved my boss and the team I was on, but I didn't save a penny while I was there with all the bills I had to pay, I started the job with $5,300 in my bank account, I quit with $5,200 in it (I've been having a lot of car troubles lately)
I was there 8 months, I jumped to JPMorgan, and I've regretted every moment of it for the past 3 months. My salary has significantly increased, I got a signing bonus, I'm working less than I was at Citi, and I hate every moment of it. Any retard can do the job and I sit on the internet all day fucking around doing nothing since there's hardly anything to do, my team is filled with mouth breathing retards who don't like me, and my boss is also not that bright and doesn't care that I really have no work to do and doesn't want to train me to do anything else
If you like your coworkers at Citi, stay, you can't beat having good coworkers or bosses. If you hate them, leave as soon as you get the chance to
You'd know more about your future coworkers and boss with your sister at Wells Fargo than I did when I went to JPMorgan
>>1266545
Buffalo or Tampa? At least I hope you weren't in nyc at that salary.
What department?
>>1266555
I'd rather not say what department, but I was an accountant myself, and yes, it's one of those two cities
Like I said before, if you like your coworkers, stay, I'm sure you can get a good bump in salary if you move departments in a year. Just make sure you do the right amount of legwork and go to a department that pays well, is well managed, and has some prestige
I may go back myself if I can, they all loved me while I was there and were sad to see me go, but like I said, I followed the money and now I regret it
I cant stand the kiss ass "pretend that are mr wonderful" attitude alot of employees have in corperate america. Its like they are terrified of losing their jobs so they walk around smiling and being hard pressed to please just like a dog who knows his owner is going to find the shit he left on the living room carpet. You know the type.
Bitches, plain and simple. Ur value to a company is whats important. Not how valuable ur employment is to yourself.

>Female labour participation steadily on the rise
>Male in steady decline
When women don't work, they have kids and dedicate time to raising them.
Men turn into Neets fucking around on 4chan
I think we need to give the men their jobs back.
inb4 cuck sociologist made the male line pink (muh gender norms)
>>1261334
thank god they have no real jobs yet, (look s&p500 CEO lol).
Btw, we all knew about those females with those great start ups right? how many of them have survive? woman are not physically and mentally prepared for that kind of decision making.
The only reason woman labour is on the rise is because they are preferred (sometimes by law) to a man at equal qualifications.

Hey /biz/ I just got pre-approved for a home loan. It will be my 1st house.
The loan is approved for $200k which would put me around $1100/month.
I really hope to keep it around $800/month so I don't become house poor.
How much can I really spend?
Also general home buying tips to help newbies like myself.
>very surprised there isnt a sticky with some of this info
You realize how much debt you're putting yourself into? Make sure you get something you can afford. In my area, there are homes going for less than 50k. Nothing really wrong with them, just bad owners like you making bad financial decisions. No disrespect.
>>1268557
in my area rent is so high that I either pay someone elses mortgage and have nothing at the end of the day. condos/townhomes are in the 120k+ range. I might find a half way decent house for 150+ but I will need to put a lot of work into it. Some mobile homes are in the 100k+ range here... probably getting a condo
>pre-approved
wow, they dont just hand those out to anyone
What I've spent this year so far:
> 15" Macbook pro: $1,895.00
> Sony Alpha a7R II: $3,598.00
> Wacom 13.3" Cintiq: $2,899.95
> Fitbit Charge HR Activity: $152.95
> Epson PowerLite 1080p 3LCD Projector: $2,120.00
> Sony PlayStation 4: $542.99
Grand Total: $ 11,208.89

If you're asking, you made the wrong decision.
The question is why did you buy all these things? Do you use them regularly?
You should invest in audiophile quality headset and speaker system. With massive cables made of pure gold for the quality. Without that you have basically thrown money down the toilet.
Is he now the face of /biz/? He is the epitome of a ratty NEET who has become a God of this earth.
>>1268373
He is a Vitalik, Lord of the Endtimes. Once former NEETs will become multi millionaires and start running the show, we'll really show normies what it was like.
>>1268373
Could you please tell me more about him?
Some backstory plox
>>1268433
You're on the internet, fucking Google him you retarded fuck. What the hell is wrong with you people?
Got my dick wet from MGT for the first time and made 900$ my first time trading.
Would Apple be a good company to invest in? they just invested in an Uber competitor in China and the Iphone 7 is about to come out.
Should I put in that 900$ into AAPL? It seems to be climbing steadily.
>>1268355
I don't see much value in AAPL, they are priced pretty high.
Further growth can only come from eating away market share or expanding the market, which is not happening. They are creatively tapped out.
>>1268362
True, but you have dumb whores and chinks buying them as a status symbol.
>>1268389
the only place to go is China left who doesn't want them due to security concerns
If you wanna take risks to get big gains from stocks like $MGT but fairly stable companies
Look at $GPRO and $ORIG. Gopro has new deals soon and ORIG is posting big revenues. If oil goes near 60-70, ORIG may double (averaging 4.90 yearly and it's at 2.36)
I have a genius startup idea and I've scratched together a business plan but I have no idea what to do.
The idea consists of an ecommerce site/ platform but I have absolutely no knowledge of programming, site design, and the logistics to creating and running such a company.
Pls halp.
>>1268310
So, you're the ideas guy, huh.
I'm happy to provide some technical advice and where you can learn things. Lay out your idea so I can start to give you some specs for what you will need
>>1268310
hire some pajeet to desing it. make them sign a nda first. dont listen to faggot autists on 4chan. they think because they spent their youth cramped in their moms basement learning code that everyone should have and fire off >le epic ideas guy memes. fuck them believe in yourself and seize your opportunity
I asked around /g/ and offered payment to build my website even offering a stake in the company and they were all a bunch of faggots. paid a pajeet $500 and it was off the ground in a week. I made $4000 this week and im so grateful I didnt listen to 4chan.
