XGTI is looking good. Any other stocks we should be looking at tomorrow morning?
>XGTI is looking good.
You think that. Watch the selloff tomorrow morning, in which I'll buy into for the bounce. Already made a nice profit from the first pump. SKLN and CBYL are about due though. CBYL is on the verge of an acquisition.

So, I'm about to start a small online store selling mostly t-shirts that I've designed. I have about 30+ designs to start off with, and I believe I'm going to go with shopify for the site. Has anybody used Shopify, and if so, what do you think about it? Also, how bad of an idea is this?
>>1264711
ive used shopify multiple times (every business failed; not shopify's fault, only my own).
it's really easy to set up a decent looking site (albeit time consuming).
Here's a hint: google "Shopify 30-day trial" and search around for a slightly longer trial so that you can use it without paying and test the waters for a month.
also about your idea on selling shirts: it's gonna be tough. i dont know what your designs are; if they are niche specific (e.g. game of thrones designs) then you can easily market towards that niche (market towards game of thrones watchers). But if they are just "cool designs and patterns" then it will be much much more difficult because you do not have a niche, unless you call "people who like shirts with cool designs" a niche.
Let me know if you have any questions. also let me know in general what your shirts are about.
>>1264711
Have you built up a market? do you have a t-shirt design blog? do you have advertisment somewhere for this website, are your t-shirt niche?
It is not the products fault that it sells bad, it is the way you sell it.
Is there an automated website for something like this? I would like to upload my friends designs and see if we can make some whatever money.
Hello /biz/ I'd like to know where I should start learning so I can get a solid base on economics.

hey /biz/
recently graduated college. been working for about a year in my career, two jobs at tech startups as a developer making good cash.
The problem is, I despise having to work 9-5. I'm starting to get bored of programming and hate the culture associated with it.
Is it possible to, let's say in five years, gain and maintain a steady enough income where I won't have to work again unless I want to? is this viable through investing, or is the risk not even with it?
>>1264619
Yes. This is a method that's been growing in popularity in recent years, especially among people in well-compensated fields like IT. It's called FIRE (Financially Independent, Retired Early).
The basic principle is that you must accumulate approximately 25x your annual spending, investing in low-cost options like index funds. Once this is accomplished, you can draw down 4% of the total sum (roughly your yearly spending) indefinitely, since the average return should be roughly 7%.
Example:
Joe makes $100k, but only needs 25k a year. For simplicity's sake, we'll assume he has a paid off house.
Joe saves up $650k in about nine years (that's 25k*25). Each year, Joe can withdraw 4% (26k) and live off that without needing to work again. Of course, it's always an option, but you don't NEED to anymore if you don't want to.
Also, you should bear in mind that the process will almost certainly take less time than in the example I quoted, because that doesn't take into account the power of compounding interest and reinvestment of dividends.

Is the Canadian dollar going to rise any time soon?
>>1264391
When you see movement in oil, you'll likely see a rise in CDN... unless, of course, the real estate market tanks out over there like they predict. Then, it won't matter what oil does.
I need a quick loan of $2000 to get back on my feet and get back to being employed. But right now I have bad credit and no collateral. Is there any way I can go about this or am I screwed?

If my friends and I used a bug to win money from a bitcoin gambling site, did we break the law in any way? Online gambling is legal in my state, and we didn't tamper with the game at all or use third party software to break it.

What does /biz/ thinking about getting a car they can only afford with a loan?
The thing is, I am a 23 year old student with a small business. I repair mobile phones. However, I don't have a car myself and I feel like it slows my business down because I want to focus more on businesses. I also don't have the money available to buy one without a loan.
By getting a (as) new car I think I would make myself more available for customers and I think it would give the impression that I am successful and thus more reliable.
What does /biz/ think about this situation? Would you consider it a good investment or would you think it would drown me?
Picture related, it's a Mercedes A Class, 27.000 new price.
>I can't afford to buy a car
>so I'm gonna buy a $27,000 car
Literally OP what?
If your business is your only source of income, that clearly means that you're making enough to get by. So, why not just save up a couple thousand and get an older, reliable car? Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3... You should be able to get a good used car for less than $5,000.
Don't buy a fucking 27 grand piece of shit mercedes that'll cost you $1200 a year just to get the oil changed
>>1264118
$1200 for an oil change? Try more like $40
Just steal one. Its way too fucking easy since everything is digital now. Especially if you're buddies with a mechanic. Just make sure you get rid of the NAV system in them considering they're all being actively tracked by the makers of the car.
I just want to start earning passive income, I don't have enough for real estate. I published a couple ebooks but they aren't really making anything and I'm losing confidence.
I've invested £5k into dividend stocks (LSE) which I'll carry on doing.
I just don't want to work this shitty job anymore, I come home feeling exhausted. I just want to work for myself but I don't know how.
I don't think you should be focusing on passive income vehicles. It takes a lot of money just to get a trickle of income and even that is taxed.
Instead, focus on capital growth first.
>>1264057
I have about £1k per month to spend, is it not a viable strategy to spend that monthly on income generating assets? I just to know where to throw my money
>>1264074
Well, it's possible, but I don't think it's the best. Obviously, since you have 1k a month, you don't need the extra money that passive income will bring, so just put it in an index and watch it grow. Unless you sell, your taxable income from this will be very low, only what your small dividend will be, which you will reinvest with DRIP. In the meantime, figure out what you want your life to look like - where you want to live, what your expenses will be, what kind of lifestyle and income you want.
Once you have enough money to cover your goal, start transferring your gains into passive income vehicles.
You can also combine this with a real estate strategy for some diversification, but that's another topic.
