Is there an easier way to make money online than surveys?
Csn you really get paid to take online surveys? What do you have to do? And how much
>>1373743
>>1373893
Thats a terrible market to get into. ANYONE AND THEIR MOTHER can take surveys. Those companies have a never ending supply of people looking for money. They never need to offer anything of value, because they would be robbed by millions of people.
For 15 minutes of time, you make like, 15 cents or something stupid.
>>1373901
Which website is that ? 15 cents for 15 minutes ? That is even worse than wageslavery
Hey, new to /biz/ and was wondering should i use e-trade to invest in stocks or should i go straight to a firm for trading.
robinhood.com
really though you're most likely better off just putting your money into a mutual fund
>>1373687
could you explain why?
i have around 2k im wanting to invest and just want to know more
>>1373781
Robinhood has no fees. Etrade costs $10 per trade so it takes $20 from your profits every time. Unless you put in 10k and get free trades for a while.
No one on this board will tell you to go to a real broker
When is the bubble going to burst? Is real estate overbought right now? Is there even a bubble? All I want is to buy a house, fix it up a little, and rent it out. When is the time to get in?
Either 2017 or 2018.
It won't be as bad as 08 though.
Yea fucking realtors, I want a 80k house that is selling for 150k because of the market.
>>1373814
Try living in Australia, where a small house out in the country with almost no land costs $300,000.
What 2 do if your parents are poorfags with poor financial decision-making?
>Keep telling me about the newest MLM and cryptocurrency and all this shit
>They keep telling me I should drop my Accounting major and just join Amway because they heard some people are making 6-figures doing it
>Keep nagging me about getting a job and moving out and doing chores which further lowers my testosterone via cortisol
>Are voting for Bernie because he'll give them free things
>Keep telling me liberal things they heard on bernie sanders discussion forums
>Keep telling me how capitalism is evil and horrible and that there's a conspiracy to make us poor
>Keep telling me how world war 3will start soon and so money will become useless anyway
>Can't get a job because of their shit since they keep making retarded rules
Fuck man I know I'm living under their roof but why do they have to be like this? I'm so jeally of financially literate parents.
What do I do? I'm considering just taking what money I have and moving by myself to le big city and starting a new life but I have no real job and no gf.
How do you guys deal with your poorfag family?
I'm not here too often but even I have seen this before so I'll assume it's a regular thing.
Been there. Parents were quite wealthy until I was about 6 years old and they got divorced which cost my dad his job for certain reasons and my mom is overly religious claiming god would provide so she refused to get a job.
Both of them filed bankruptcy by the time I was 7 and we lived in section 8 housing until I finally moved out at 18.
There's really nothing you can do, they have to make that decision on their own. I've tried multiple times to help my parents with financial sense, even signing my mom up as a trusted user on one of my credit cards so she could build her credit back up. I think it's just a mentality overall.
>>1373622
Leave them. Burn the bridge down and don't come back to them. Start your own life. ask yourself, in 5 years from now, are you going to continue bitching about them, or are you going to have already accepted this as part of you and started you're own life doing what you desire to do.
I got a 3.87 gpa from Berkeley in a liberal arts department. What are my chances of going to a decent law school?
>>1373569
What's your LSAT?
>>1373569
Given an equally good LSAT score, 100%.
Doing well in law school and getting recruited by biglaw is a completely different matter.
None. Admissions will think you are a crazy SJW.
Where do great ideas come from?
20 yo business administration majors
just kidding
Salespeople
Get it out of your head that great ideas come from anywhere. Even science and academia is all about standing on the shoulders of giants. There might be a novel approach or a new proof, but Einstien didn't just shit relativity out of thin air.
In business even more so. Your not going to get anywhere in life trying to come up with great ideas. Sure, tell everyone your mediocre idea is brilliant, but them put the real effort into excecution. Great ideas are the oldest meme there is.
>>1373558
>Great ideas are the oldest meme there is.

Just opened a thing on scottrade to try buying my owns stocks. Zero experience. Nvidia seems to be only good news and rising stock price. Is that a good place to start with say $1000 for my investment?
why are u asking us? im sure they have an investor relations phone number on the website. if u dont know what that is. you shouldn't be buying peices of companies

RUN THE COMPANY THROUGH THE NASDAQ DOZEN.
Does anyone know where the argument for a $15 an hour minimum living wage in the US even comes from? It's everywhere, of course, but I can't actually find any studies or even casual calculations that come close to supporting that number.
The closest I've found to anything reputable is http://livingwage.mit.edu/, which lists California and New York at right around $13/hr for a single adult.
>>1373454
>Im poor, and cant afford things I want
>I want more money for what I do.
>>1373584
yeah, like food
>>1373584
The thing is, that's a completely reasonable position if your current wages are literally less than what you would need to cover basic living expenses, but I can't find any evidence that you need $15/hr to do that, which is what the Tumblrinas are claiming.
what legal steps can you take to get back money from a cleaned out joint account?
Completely depends on your location, circumstances and local law. Contact a professional.
>>1373314
amerikkka
joint bank account (just a regular ol account)
and im not hiring a "professional"
>>1373313
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm planning to make a website which would combine the features of imageboards and social networks. It'd be "4chan for normalfags" which would include the following:
- authorization through social networks
- optional anonymity (users can be either anonymous or not)
- user boards with custom settings
- a variety of supported media formats (AVI, MP3, etc.)
- voice messages
- PMs between users
- Instant notifications on replies to your posts
- A feture-rich promoted mobile client for multiple platforms
- A friendly design, similar to social networking sites
- Not seen as a site for NEETs, retards and cybercriminals by the general public (media, investors, etc.)
Thoughts? My budget is $1,5k. One thing is clear: without being useful to big businesses, my startup will never attract enough users. Advice?
>>1373237
>I'm planning to make a website
lol. good luck.
>>1373237
>- authorization through social networks
>- optional anonymity (users can be either anonymous or not)
How can you authorize through social network and yet have anonymity?
>>1373241
>you authorize
>you post anonymously
You are authorized by your IP anyway.
I have two job offers.
One is for an IT recruiting firm. Coming in as a recruiter with the possibility to move into account management quickly if I desire. The company offers a strong base salary, benefits and a great commission structure with PTO. I also see a lot of growth opportunities within the company wether I choose to stay in recruiting or go into sales. The company is large and rated at the second largest IT recruiting company in the US. The commute isn't too bad either. The downside is I am a bit older and would becoming into a position that a lot of people grab straight out of college. But, I am sure if I perform well it wont be an issue for me.
The other is for a start up company which is developing at luxury vacation rental property market place online. Like Airbnb for luxury rentals across the US with expansion in to the main vacation locations. I would be coming in as essentially an order taker booking clients at different vacation homes and learning specific territories. I have spoken with the owner and he believes I could move up quickly into a territory manager role but, that could all be bull. The company's base is lower than the IT firm and they do not offer benefits or PTO. The offer is attractive to me though because I find the idea of working for a luxury travel company sexy, but it probably won't be what I think it will be in my head. One plus is they are partnered with a luxury real estate firm so if I wanted to get into property management or become a realtor it would be good route.
Anyway this is my dilemma, I have spoken to some friends and family and I am just looking for an outsiders opinion/advice, on an anime image board....

I live in the UK and I'm about to invest in long term Vanguard funds, with a focus on dividends.
VYM - Vanguard High Dividend Yield
VIG - Vanguard Div Appreciation
VHYL - Vanguard FTSE all-world high dividend yield
I'm planning on putting £1500 initially, and £1000 per month (along with any reinvested dividends)
Would you say this is a good move, especially with the pound sterling being currently weak against the dollar?
>>1372979
Why the emphasis on dividends?
>>1372979
Maybe do that after the financial collapse brough to us by a german bank that will not be named? You know that there could be a next 2008 any minute now, right?
Let's say I can get into an education is CS, at a good college. Is it too late when I'm in my thirties? Will I forever be a failure?
No OP! Never too late! I'm in the same boat, different major (business administration). If you can understand the algorithms, code semantics, and the math (look up discrete math), and, most important, study your ass off, it's very possible. I'm pulling it off, and use most of my time in it (i.e., no time to bullshit/socialize). Go for it. Don't give up. Work really hard. Good luck OP.
>>1372942
How do you know you'll land a job afterwards? How do you know the pay will be worth it?
>>1372928
>He goes back to college in his thirties in order to better his future.
>The fucking Skeleton War begins, and all able bodied males are drafted into the military.
>The following depression leaves no jobs, ruining America, "The land of oppurtunity"
>OP looks back at his decision and wonders if he made the correct one.
Do you think there are billionaires browsing /biz? Or is everyone in College/High School or some intern somewhere?
