What should I do to get myself promoted? I'm genuine #1 in the team and it's acknowledged by my manager but he says I need to wait a bit more. For me it seems like just playing the waiting game while I'm at a position I already outgrew. Should I imply I'm job seeking to scare them? We're already understaffed. Should I look for real? I genuinely like the company and manager, it's just getting a bit boring and pay is relatively shit.
Also general job/career advice thread I guess.

if you're young you should probably be more focused on getting drunk all the time and having a social life. your boss probably thinks you're a nerd and wouldn't do well in a position where you are in charge of other people.
if youre not getting paid enough, then yeah, leave if you can make more money elsewhere.
maybe your boss is stringing you along, or maybe you should wait. how long have you been working at this place?

I'm 28, almost 2 years now. I'm a tryhard and frankly I'd rather focus on development of career over social life which is mediocre in my case, anyway. The reason I'm reluctant to leave is because I've build a decent rapport in the company (and that's what my boss says anyway, that the company is growing, which is true, and he'll recommend me anywhere internally in the future).

What's the deal with the housing market in the UK? It seems like every one thinks there's a bubble all the time no matter what.
What difference is there between the UK and a hypothetical completely free zero regulation housing market? How is government interference or a lack of it causing house prices to rise?
>>1372508
>hypothetical completely free zero regulation housing market
You're looking at it.
>>1372508
people have been saying the bubble is going to pop for the last 4 years. it will never pop the government will continue to prop up the market no matter what
>>1372508
to do with social security really.
There are too many fucking poor people whose only aspirations are to obtain residence in a council house.
Generally these poor cunts have no money and so if housed, the council charges them something like £20 a month for rent and £5 a month for council tax, if that.
Councils generally identify single mothers as priorities -- can't have irresponsible cunts and their poorly bred children to be homeless now can we!?!?!
As a result, the rest of the working residents in the area must pay much higher council tax, housing supply is limited as the housing associations buy up properties and let to council tenants on a subsidised basis (brown envelopes everywhere), and more and more children get born out of wedlock, only to grow into unproductive members of society.
thanks Tony.
How is Trump a good businessman? He inherited a real estate empire. And we all know that real estate increases in value over time. It is not like he started from scratch and became a billionaire like Zuckerberg or something. I might be very wrong. But I have this feeling that he is overrated?
>>1372498
people dont care about his business skills, he was bankrupt like 3 times or some shit. they just like him cuz hes edgy and actually has radical yet reasonable views. also hes part god and waiting inline to be the next earthly god emperor.
>>1372498
>has a scyscraper with his name on it
H-he's n-not actually a good business man or anything, sempai
His inheritance was far from 10 billion
Also going from 1 mil to 4 bil is an 4000x increase
It's like you going from 10,000 to 40 mil

What sales model could I use to sell phenibut?
Literally any of them.
Hell package it with a low dosage of caffeine to up the addiction factor.
Just don't be surprised when you have a class action come from behind your scheme.
>>1372471
Hell, even package it with fasoracetam for the am pill. Faso starts reversing the damage done by phenibut, and makes you feel great while doing it. (Kills your orgasm while you're on it though)

Alright /biz/ I'm on online marketer and would love to hear your business ideas. I'll tell you if it is possible to market them and if so advice on how to do it.

I was thinking 'digital marketer'. An anon said he was going to make his own digital marketing shop
Anyway I'll stick around the thread. I've listened to hours and hours (and hours) of SPI, Tropical MBA and EmpireFlippers podcasts. Scoured Nathan Barry's blog. Watched hours of MicroConf talks. Opted in to email campaign to study them etc etc
I actually just lost my job, so if you have any ideas I'm all ears

I recently started to read about the stock market and I have about 12,000$ to invest. I can tolerate very high-risk and I already have a 6k emergency fund.
Would it be a good idea to invest 1-2k in different small-cap stocks with a very high P/E and hope for one of them to go for the moon ? I would also invest 1,000$ every month in a new stock.
There surely are other very aggressive strategies, what are they ?
Thanks biz

If I want to be a freelance should I become a Computer Engineer or Network Engineer? I like both so it's not a problem.
Are there enough Network Engineers? I feel like it's just a career in getting a CCIE.
>>1372400
Just passed my CCNA today br0. Go computer engineer so I don't have to compete against you in interview
>>1372404
Congrats on getting CCNA. leaning to computer engineering anyway. just want to know how viable.

He's been far more right than wrong.
He's absolutely right that this """recovery""" has been nothing more than a green band aid on a mortal wound.
Bubbles pop, but instead of letting the market correct itself, the powers that be dump paper into the economy, thereby easing the pain in the short term and making it 10 times worse than it had to be in the long term...which is what caused the initial bubbles in the first place.
The butt fucked economy then hobbles along for several more years in a so-called recovery, meanwhile the fundamental problems have not been addressed or remedied in the slightest.
The numbers say that this recovery is worse than the fucking recession, so when this next bubble (which is really the same as the '08 bubble) pops, the consequences will be even worse.
The Federal Reserve distorts the economic landscape to make it look more stable than it is, which dupes ignorant people into buying shit they shouldn't, which they'll soon not be able to afford. The Fed makes sinkholes appear to be bedrock.
Schiff, Maloney and others aren't even THAT fucking smart, it's that everyone else is so god damn deluded and they really believe currency can be printed ad infinitum with no downside.
There has never been, and never will be, a fiat currency that never dies and never leads to inflation. This is fact, not crazy innawoods prepper bullshit.
The only reason more people don't agree with him is that almost no one living has ever seen a depression or understands what causes it. Fuck, even most people's parents haven't seen one.
>>1372314
He's right... it's fucked up, but the Fed can do whatever the fuck the want.
>Market is overvalued
>inflation/deflation happening at same time
>banks pass stress test by writing name on form properly.

Why doesn't the government just lease out the rights to all land and natural resources as opposed to collecting taxes? Sure, some banks might stand to lose a bit of money, but everyone else, including business, would be better off by not having to pay taxes.
>what are property taxes
>>1372230
Well, the idea would be to abolish private ownership of land altogether, so instead of making payments to the bank, your property payment would also simultaneously be your tax contribution. So you still pay the same amount as you did before for property, but now there aren't any other taxes that you still have to pay.
>>1372227
>leasing LNR rights
Go check out native land and look at how that practice has gone for them.
If you wanna be fucking rich put all your money into $MGT on Monday they just released their proxy and are opening up a bitcoin factory in Washington. fuck you guys. good fucking luck
