I figured I could wait until a current marina comes up for sale. The one I work at now was sold in 2008 to it's current owners for $1.8M. They had no prior experience in owning a business either, but they are completely incompetent. They have no idea how to sell boat slips, their website looks like it was created in the 90s, they have no form of passive income besides servicing boats which is a seasonal thing. I feel they just bought it thinking it was easy money. I have turned this place around myself somewhat. I market my own service, I've brought our boat slip capacity from 30% to 70% over the past 2 years. I've made the owners understand that boat ramp and trailer storage should cost money and isn't free anywhere else. I've painted the signs at the entrance and the main building myself that look 20-30 years old. I supply my own equipment.

I really don't get rich here, but it's been my passion. Been working at marinas since I was 14. I just wish these retarded owners would realize that I do 90% of the work here and let me run the place, instead of always disagreeing with my ideas then months later realizing I was right and do it anyways acting like they thought of it.

Once it gets to a certain point then yes it can become dangerous, but rn we are still very much benefiting from trade even with a deficit because we set ourselves up as the world reserve currency.

Government intervention in trade is also pretty complicated and imho it should stay out of international trade.
