So it goes like this:

I worked with a psychologist who used to teach at Penn State University main campus while I was doing some work as researcher with a BA in psychology and sociology. The big issue is that it is empirically demonstrable that Asians always outperform every other race (including Caucasians) when it comes to upward mobility in socioeconomic status.

The reason is because they're pushed really hard by their parents and their culture is inherently way more industrious. There's a large amount of pressure for them to succeed, so they end up also having higher suicide rates. Just look at their education systems and you see the same trend.

The cool thing is that this isn't limited to race. Go raise your kids to be responsible and don't infantize them and you'll be amazed at what they can do.

I work in HR and we are always required to verify employment. All we do is call and ask if so and so worked there from start to finish state stated on their application and we confirm if it's accurate or not. But I rarely ever call references. It's just a waste of time. Of course whoever you put as a reference is going to say only good things about you. If you thought they wouldn't, you wouldn't put them down.

But it's not difficult to lie. Just make sure the number is real and you both are on the same page when an employer calls to verify your start and end date. They aren't legally allowed to ask anything else. They may ask why you left but you aren't obliged to answer it. Just have him say he can't remember or he's busy right now and can call back later and ask for their number. But as long as they say yes so and so worked here from start date to end date then that's all that matters.

Never LIE on your resume. If even a single bit comes out you will lose your credibility. That being said feel free to exaggerate, have fake references and just not mention some things.

For example I never mention in my resume that I'm on parole or that I don't have a driving license. I never finished university, but I did actually go to the school and know the curriculum (nobody will EVER ask you for your diploma as a proof).

If you have crap work experience such as retail you can just re.write as a prefix to all your titles "Head of ((customer service))" | "Senior" or something along these lines.

Also make sure that your references know that you are calling. Add in some online certifications.

I now work in middle management and hire other people because we don't have a HR department.
