these are just easy ones off the top of my head, if you really can't think of anything then you are probably fooked and should just invest the money instead

I don't know, I was going to go the ecommerce route, but now I'm feeling like there has to be something better that I can do than trying to resell stuff.
>>
>>1828013

FYI resale will always be sub 20% actual profit. Most relase is a whole lot closer to 10% real profit. Unless you are a 500k+ a year company, resale will pay you less actual in your pocket money, than working a low level management job at Costco

You're taking too many risks at the same time anon. If even one thing goes wrong you're fucked. I don't know enough details about your situation to say what the best course of action is, but consider:
1) going to a University near family
2) getting a part time job
3) seeing if your/her parents are willing to care for the child for the next couple years.
4) Despite the memes, you have more rights as a father if you are married to the mother, so consider marriage.

Start Ebay account to sell some of my things

EVERYONE IS A SCAMMER

does anyone else have this problem.

I get bombarbed by people who made their accounts minutes ago.

Why do they do this?
Also how can i avoid this?

>>
>>1827533
I just dont sell to anyone without at least a few feedbacks. Generally about 1% of my buyers try to scam me and very rarely succeed. Thats just my experience in the past year and 300sales.
>>
I've sold on Ebay for 10 years. Probably 200 sales. I've only had 1 customer fuck me.

And after some effort Ebay ruled in my favor.

I realize this is a business & finance board and not about school, but I'm going to assume there are at least a few people here who were biz majors.

There's a chapter of the Financial Management Association at my school and I've been interested in joining it, but I'm really paranoid about groups that ask you to pay dues just to attend their events. They have speakers from good companies come in (today they have some people from BNY Mellon), but I don't think they talk about any specific topics, just about their company and why you should apply there.

In my mind, if I want to know more about BNY Mellon or BoA or wherever, I don't need to pay dues each semester, I can just do my own research and apply online if I decide I'd want to intern there.

Even in terms of networking, it seems to me that groups like this aren't really helpful, as they just make you aware of networking opportunities, they don't really offer opportunities that you wouldn't have otherwise. It really just seems like something to put on a CV, but even then, unless you get voted into a leadership position, is it really anything special to just be a member?

Idk, am I being a faggot or am I kind of on the money about this type of school organization?

mba student here

90% is for networking opps.

u sure are confident about your networking abilities.

i find those orgs well worth the cost just to have an excuse to talk to people at where i want to be.
leadership roles in the org can also be resume'd and discussed in interviews
>>
>>1827513
I didn't mean to come off like I can network better than anyone in those clubs, I just meant that most of the opportunities for networking are available to anyone. Even within the club, I could meet and talk to the members without having to join the organization. I realize it's easier to relate if we're in the same club but my point is that it doesn't seem to give any exclusive opportunities, just makes a few things a little easier maybe.

Why does it matter to the rest of the world if the stock market falls? When economists talk about plummeting stock markets they talk as if it would have economic disasters, but the only actual consequence of it is that the stock owners lose money, right? I mean at least until the stock goes back up again. Why is it a global disaster if the stock market plummets?

>>
>>1827486
Stock markets falling are often the result of underlying economics issues. It less that the act itself is bad, but that a crash could be a very visible sign of other problems with the economy.

In 2000 when the dot com bubble burst, the only people really hurt were the tech companies, and the burst occurred because of the wildly optimistic and overvalued valuations of internet companies.

In 2008 the stock market burst when it became apparent that firms were either gonna make less money or even lose money as the economy melted down as a result of the massive credit crunch.

stock market crashes can affect corporate behavior too. Companies will be more conservative, government will use monetary/fiscal policies that can increase/decrease price levels. More things happen than just stock prices going down

Everyday a box of used socks arrives at your doorstep.

Each box contains 100 pairs of socks. And the socks have been worn for 1 month by a stranger.

HOw would you profit from this?
What’s the scheme gang

can you get more than 100 pairs of socks everyday?

If you had a lot you could shred them up and recycle them as insulation for houses and shit

ITT: Rate my dream/idea/goal

So consider the following: Within every industry there are certain financial ratios (ROI, Solidity, Profit margin etc.) that are recurring or "standard". For instance, in retailing, the Asset Turnover tends to be high and the Profit Margin low. Now suppose you own a retail company and it's not doing so good. Then you could bring in a certain financial consultant, who would examine your KPIs, compare them to industry standard, figure out what's "wrong" and recommend a solution.
I'm majoring in accounting and I would like to do something like this. Does this type of service exist? What is it called? Is it profitable?

>>
>>1827388
It's called consulting and it's typically done by people with significant years of experience in the given industry.
>>
>>1827448
Consulting firms will hire any liberal arts major chad or Stacey looking person out of a top school that can read charts and graphs.
>>
>>1827462
For the grunt work but there's some experienced principal leading the project. And that's only at the big firms anyway. Most industry consulting is done by retired professionals.

Am I too late to hop on board the stock train? Is it doomed to crash soon? And if it's wallstreet that crashes (since it is the market which people seem to be predicting to crash) would I be fine if I invested somewhere else than the united states? What market would be good to invest in in these volatile times?

Not really. If the customers are tight on cash you will not get any business. Your proposed business model would also mean I have to make some investments in my self since my marketability is not that great at the moment.

Good stuff on ethtrader board on Reddit

Believe me. I know it's a meme and I won't be buying a Bently or retire on my own private island but here me out.

Work 50 hours a week alone.

Work is sometimes slow and i can do pretty much wtf i want.

I have saved about $1,500 and also paid off enough debts that i have cash freed up.

I'm having a hard time finding actual assets and figured i may as well use my free time and money to make more money while collecting this paycheck at work.

Rather than make a 4,000th bullshit Etherium post or a 5,000th "i have 80 cents how do i profit from this" i figured i would ask the simple question.

>is there money in this "rustic" pallet furniture meme that won't fucking die?

I have considered doing light mechanic work or paracord shit but 2 seperate friends have suggested pallet shit.

If it really is that easy to turn a proffit i can buy new or like new pallets from an actual pallet manufacturer nearby and deal with fb and cl faggots all day.

Perhaps even pay for a booth at a few antique shops?

Pic related is what i have built so far with pallets but i do have tools and took woodshop in high school. Also helped build a few houses. So, pallet shit is a breeze.

Go down to the furniture store and see how packed they are on a daily basis. I bet it's not wall-to-wall.
>>
>>1827196
Nearest furniture store is 45 miles in 5 directions. I live in bumbfuck nowhere.

Furniture store is a good idea tho. If i can make 1 or 2 niche "hot" items that look proffessional i can throw on my funeral pearl snap and shoes and try to sell on a few stores.

Kek.

They can jack the price through the roof. Idgaf.

Thinking about buying a Model S or 3 and driving for Uber. Live in California at my parents place. How quickly should I be able to pay the car off driving 2 or 3 days a week? Should I incorporate in some tax haven to avoid the taxes?

/biz/ I'm about to go into my first salary negotiation ever. I am becoming the GM of a valet company.

My job consists of being on call from 7am - 7:30pm Monday through Friday and from 7am - 4pm on Saturday. I also create schedules, handle call outs, and conduct interviews. The goal of my job is just to keep business running smoothly. The current GM who is buying the company makes $44k yearly salary but he has been the GM for over a year.

I was thinking of asking for $38k/yr
