How do oldfags enjoy 80s and 90s puroresu when there were no ikemen studs, and just burly old men?
Better match psychology, better move sets, less twinks. I would rather watch grumpy old men like Tenryu beat the shit out of wrestlers than a hihgly choreographed spot fest.
>>3018776
>Not enjoying monster japs and monster gaijin beat each other senseless.
It's good old fashioned fun.
Big Tits Tenryu laughs at your faggotry.
4 years difference
What did he mean by this?
He lost his smile.

why are japanese trophies so ugly and tacky, is it the same reason they can't draw good animation or paint good pictures
There is enough Smackdown talent on this show to literally make another Smackdown PPV
And in case you needed more Sports entertainment here is the 2 hr Takeover card

What matches are on the Preshow?
So I got around to watching NJPW for the first time, and holy shit it was fucking fantastic to watch. The match quality is among the BEST I've ever seen in my life, and I've been watching wrestling for 23 years now. Even though I didn't know who the hell any of these guys were, I made an instant connection to the story they were telling in the ring. The wrestlers that stood out to me were Kenny Omega, Okada, Naito, Goto, Suzuki and Hiroshi Tanahashi. I honestly think I'm going to be a New Japan fan for life now, it was just that good. It's such a nice breath of fresh air from the carny, cheesy sports entertainment style of WWE.
Welp, it looks like I won't be going back to WWE anytime soon

>best thing on Raw since the brand split
>will job to the Shieldettys, two guys who flopped despite huge main event pushes
>will proceed to flounder in the lower midcard
Sheasaro in NJPW when?
>They will lose at Summerslam
>They will split up
>Cesaro will finally be sent to Smackdown at the rumored shake-up
>But now Big Scripts Ward is not there to save him anymore
>No gods, no kings, only Road Dogg
>Goes the way of Luke Harper
This pain is so familiar.
>>3018645
If only.
>>3018654
>No gods, no kings, only Road Dogg
utterly terrifying that
wacky as fuck. Ahead of it's time really. Lucha underground owe a lot to it.

Fucking based! Shame the promotion was on life support after Hash died
>Bryan returning to wrestling, ROH makes most sense due to his family, the crossover with NJPW and it being his first place
>Young Bucks randomly starting shilling Chicago bullet club merch, Punk has stated a number of times he'd have no problems working the indies for fun
They're coming home...
How big would it be if Bryan and Punk faced off outside of WWE? I think it could legit change the whole dynamic of wrestling. That's a major match at Wrestlemania, a WWE title match happening outside the WWE.
>thats a major match at wrestlemania
It happened at a throwaway PPV and no one remembers it
>>3018325
I hope Bryan dies, or becomes a vegetable, shit wrestler who can't draw
>Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter wrote that the show had a "very different feel from the company's recent major shows" due to the disappointing attendance number. Meltzer wrote that while A.J. Styles had the talent, it was too early for him to be a main event draw and that Japanese fans had not accepted him as the "real world champion".
AJ couldn't cut it in the big leagues.
Bullet Club is now selling more merch than ever, and Omega is drawing huge as its leader.
>>3018296
WOAT
I know about this, Back to the Yokohama Arena was only half-filled because nobody knew who this emo hair manlet was and the reason why he's shorter than the average Japanese female
>>3018296
AJ Styles has never been a big draw and I got news for you Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks are not big draws either. They are niche audience draws i.e. the vocal minority. Save the excuses. End of story.
Asuka, I must break you.

Hurry up and die already!
Charlotte posted some old picture on Instagram, so I'm assuming his days are numbered.
Vince is probably hoping he doesn't die before Summerslam.
>>3018059
And I hope he won't die during NXT. He can die during Summerslam though, I don't care.
He'll be fine.
How ya doin' /asp/? It's nice and sunny out here!
Fuck off phil the cuck
enjoying ya permanent brain damage phil?
>>3017979
punk got brain damage from ufc?
these 2 had more 5-Star matches in 48 hours than Kurt Angle, Daniel Bryan & Krispen Wah combined had in their entire careers.
>APPOLOGIZE
lol dude wow
>>3017733
>Three (3) ((III)) SIX STAR MATCHES
>One 5*+ Match
There is no question, only Okada might be able to make the claim due to youth but Omega right now is the single greatest wrestler to have ever existed
*saves WWE*
you mean...
*pisses off the wrong jap*

I dunno, he's looking kinda paunchy
>Adam Cole
>2017
He's mediocre at best these days.
Has never cut a memorable promo.
NXT marks will praise him until they realize his best years are behind him.
From WON
>Unlike the previous two years, when NXT, SummerSlam and Raw all sold out in advance, none of the three events were sold out this year as of press time. Depending on how it is set up, the capacity for the shows was about 13,500 two years ago and a little bit more last year. In the case of SummerSlam itself, it was because of far more expensive tickets being put on sale as the cheapest primary market ticket available is for $500. The secondary market bottom price has risen from $139 to $155, so there is no lack of interest in tickets and whatever ends up unsold would be more due to price. The same can’t be said for the other three shows. NXT still has $25 tickets left, and the secondary market price for entry dropped from $40 to $36. Raw has sold out the cheapest tickets over the past week, but you can still get secondary market tickets for as low as $45, and primary tickets left are all $125 and up. Smackdown remains the same as last week, with tickets as low as $25 available from primary market outlets and as low as $38 for the secondary market. The first NXT sellout two years ago was legit in the sense the ticket demand was there. Last year’s sellout was legit, but it was based on ticket brokers and scalpers buying up the building all three nights expecting a big return due to demand. However, NXT tickets in particular didn’t have as big a demand and the prices crashed, so this year the ticket brokers weren’t as strong in buying up anything but SummerSlam.
What went wrong?
>>3017640
Vince is still booking
>>3017645
and dumbass E DRONES are still buying
WWE is dead.
I don't even watch NJPW regularly but I've always liked Shibata and this was fucking heartbreaking to see. That sad smile he gave to the camera knowing that this could be the last time he will step in the ring was tearing me up.
What are the chances of him returning to the ring? If he can return this will be magic.
what was with that random bump he took
Imagine how you will feel when he returns and the first move he does is a headbutt
>>3017560
Yeah that was weird. He looked like a dead cockroach
