theres this girl i worked with for almost a year and we got along pretty well. always thought she was cute and really liked her, and bout a month before i left the job she brought her newly adopted dog along (and i love dogs), which was the point i started crushing on her.
i didnt wanna start anything as long as we were coworkers and on my last day, i asked her if she wanted to go out (which took a lot of courage because im super shy) and she gladly gave me her number.
when i texted her though, she didnt react, and neither answered my calls. i tried again over the course of three weeks (not excessively though) but never got anything back. i cant get her out of my head, and neither her dog, but i dont want to seem desperate or come back crawling to my old workplace.
now im deeply frustrated because i dont know whats the deal, and feel like the stupidest guy alive. should i keep trying thinking maybe she was just busy, or just leave her alone?

A friend of mine just tried to kill himself. Apparently he's tried doing so multiple times before.
I'm both worried and angry at the same time, I don't understand how anyone can come to such a conclusion. I feel depressed myself sometimes, and play with the thought of suicide, but always end up coming to the conclusion that killing yourself is the stupidest thing you could possibly do, unless you're in severe physical pain. I also despise his alcoholism and drug abuse.
He keeps joking about his suicide attempts and substance abuse, it feels like my other friends enable him by laughing with him but I never do.
What should I do? A part of me wants him to die off and another part of me wants to try and save him. He's merely a good online friend, by the way. No one I know in real life.

I did this for a friend of mine, because he would get into moods where he couldn't control his emotions and didn't understand the consequences of his actions.
one day he finally went to do it, and knowing that I was there to stop him made him realize just how stupid he was being. I ended up calling the police regardless, and he was almost baker acted.
He thanked me that day and hasn't attempted since.
Sometimes all it takes is knowing someone actually cares, which is why so many people that attempt to jump etc. linger for so long. They're looking for signs, or to see if someone will care enough to stop them, even though it's impossible to read their thoughts.
